hi bhai log....

me got placed in TCS,Avaya Global Connect(previously Tata telecom ) and Tavant technologies...then i discovered that i'm color blind

and TCS has this colorblindness test.....so i'm rejected...


i'm left with TAVANT technologies and Avaya telecom...Tavant is an upcoming software company in bangalore and although i'll get to learn to lot,the downside is that Tavant doesnt have a strong brand name....

Avaya similarily doesnt have a strong presence in India,but theres a chance of getting pre sales department,the experience of which might prove useful in my MBA...

got 98.33%ile this year...no calls....dont wnt to apply to any bskool other than an IIM n plan to give CAT next year....so help me decide which company to choose....or do i maro fight for off campus...wot say junta?

I dont know much about Tavant (heard the name by soe software people, so cant comment much)

Tata Tele is a good company as heard by my friends in this company
the good thing abt this company is that u get exp in marketing or sales and they dont want much of the techno freaks. the only issue abt this company is i's brand name specially after the name change but that shud not be much of an issue. but AVAYA is going gr8 guns these days. so not a bad deal..


TCS :- gr8 brand name get a chance to work outside n earn a lot of bucks(gals as well). anyways
another good thing is that it depends upon u to work or not (kinna project u get depends upon u)
and the training also is high profile in TCS

Hi there buddy,

I am from Tavant. I did my Bachelors in Information Technology from NITK Surathkal. I have completed 9 months at Tavant.

Before joining Tavant, i had a call letter from NITIE.But dumped NITIE to join Tavant.

Plus (+)

Salary Packages are best in industry for Freshers.
Freshers are valued a lot here at Tavant
Excellent work culture
Tremendous learning
Freshers are put into Development rather than in support/maintainence as in other companies.
Work on J2EE Technology.
Small company hence greater responsiblities and better exposure.


After all why do u want a spoon to be fed to ur mouth always.

Afterall no company is a brand.Only the ppl make it a brand and hence they are called a part of the Brand Creation process.

Remember u n i are assets on which a company will build its brand. And i prepared well fr CAT alomg with my work (CAT 2004) but will surely will try to make it this year.

But at the end this work ex is givin me a lot to add to my CV...

The rest choice is urs.

i'm facing a similar dilemma.....should one go for a company which is a big firm but pays u less,has a strong brand name...or a new compny where u get to learn more,get paid more but no brand name...like tavant in your case

also i want to know how much does software experience help in getting jobs post mba...i mean,will two year workex with a software firm give me leverage as comapred to the freshers???how many percentage of companies come for laterals

dood...have topld ya a thousand times....go for tavant...
pros:

moolah=> more beer
better work...atleast u get to work on some nice stuff
smaller company so get to interact with senior junta more

cons:

more work....is that really a con...i remember u telling me that u wanted to work so methinks thats pretty much a pro as well...

plus bangalore has more pubs

dude chill out... personal suggestion........ go in for Tavant..... though its a small compnay but trust me u will get to learna lots. have loads of friends there who will be able to healp u out.......... and also the compnay campus is nice and in a prime location....
