well I have started the preparation but havent registered yet.
I have finished microeconomics and have started financial statement analysis because it is of maximum marks.
I am a sw engg with no finance background so felt that I will have to start early.
this thread is a great initiative and we can share our doubts so if you have any from microeconomics keep it coming.

can u pls guide me thru this? I'm planning to give the exam in dec 2009 but have not much info abt how to study for the exam. I dnt have notes and not many friends who know abt this program. Pls guide me for notes and study pattern.

Hi, I am taking the CFA exam in December 2009 as well. I plan to start studying from June. Shall I start studying from the institute notes or get the Shewezer material?
I am from Mumbai and have opted for SG as the test center.

well I would say that the study material provided by cfai is too much and it should be used as a reference material rather than as a source of primary preparation, So I wud suggest you start with scheweser and use cfai material where you have a doubt in scheweser.

can anyone tell me that in which all the subjects do we need that financial calculator. is it only in quantitative methods, we need it.
or do we need it in other subjects as well.

I am answering you because no one else has, I am also preparing for level I and I haven't found use of it in economics or fsa till now so i think it will most probably be used only in quant or one or two topics of other subject I do have a simulated version of hp12c which can be run on pc if you want it for temporary use then pm me I will mail it to you.

In mumbai you can get it in parla from laxmi xerox centre and they also mail it to you so I can give you its number if you can't go there then pm me.
