Help/Advice needed for career in Management/Strategy Consulting - 05-02-2009, 01:58 PM

Dear All,

I am currently working as a Business Analyst for a leading international financial services company (Insurance domain) for the past 1.5 years. I have pursued my MBA and also have 2.5 years of experience working as a software engineer.

My long term goal is to progress to the domain of Management/Strategy consulting. My query here is that I am not sure how i would be able to progress to that goal. I would appreciate if you can let me know consulting firms which would be appropriate to start applying to. Also would it appropriate join any research/KPO firm doing strategy or consulting work to progress towards my goal?
