Hi Pal..
EMBA is so called as Distance learning MBA and can be done while being with your Job. This may be done in 2 ways as through your company or go with individually. So if u r going through your company then its the good choice or else you can go for IMT Gaz.(Fee 60k)/ NMIMS(80k) or Symbosys SCDL(25k) .
For more torch check some threads with Distance learning MBA.

Dear Vivek.

Im afraid you do not know what is an executive MBA- its NOT a correspondence/distance learning MBA like you have mentioned in your post.

An executive MBA is more like a part-time (not distance learning) MBA, where you have to attend lectures given by professors on weekdays/weekends, make presentations, prepare assignments and sit for final examinations and also give a 10,000 word dissertation.

For any good executive MBA program, the participant is required to have a work experience of atleast 3-4 years.

This is so different from a a distance learning MBA where you just have to register for the course and give exams- thats it. There is no requirement for minimum amount of work experience and no lectures/presentations and regular classes.

Hope you get the difference. Also from the viewpoint of the forum, it would be good for all if a person posts information after checking out the truthfulness of the information. If you keep on posting like this without verifying the information you are posting, then you will lose credibility.

Regards,

Tumtum.

Hello Tumtum,

Thanks for your kind attention and reply. I was in impression as both are equivalent course bcoz nowhere i read the difference b/w both.
Can you please tell me the valuation for doing the course as my company offers to do it from symbi ?

And from future i will take your suggestion damn serious.

Re: Executive MBA - 18-12-2008, 08:16 PM

Dear friends,
This is my first post. Please excuse me if this is not the right thread for my query.
I am working in IT industry and want to pursue executive MBA/part-time MBA.What are the options available from India and abroad.
I am based out of Bangalore.
Incase of distance (online) learning are there any reputed foreign universities offering such courses for students from India?

Thanks

Why think of Alliance, when you have IIMB offering such programs?

I guess you are not aware of the PGSEM program run by IIM Bangalore despite being based out of Bangalore.

PGSEM program is executive education program developed by IIMB specially for IT professionals with 2-3 years of work ex.

Visit this link for more info:

http://pgsem.iimb.ernet.in/

Feel free to ask for more.

Regards,

Tumtum.

Re: Executive MBA - 19-12-2008, 10:32 PM

Thanks for your response...I am aware of PGSEM, I wanted to get started quickly and avoid competitive tests as much possible.I applied for PGSEM in 2003 and couldn't get through due to lack of preparation.
However I will attempt this time as one of the options.
Any alternatives? Any comments on Alliance ?
