Ok everybody,
First of all A happy and a prosperous new yr ...
I have a problem. It has to be solved and I don't know how. Its a Compound interest problem...It goes like this...
Principle amt = $15677930
Rate of interest 2%
The money is compounded every 12 hrs
When will I have $30000000 in my account?
The problem is one has to compound the amt after every 12 hrs. How to do this??
And by the way I am from bangalore and taking the exam in Srilanka..

Assuming, the rate of interest is "per annum"...the effctive ROI for 12 hrs will b 2/(365*24/12)
and effective n=365*2
hope that solves it.

Hello everyone,
I am Manoj. I got to know about CFA very recently. Planning to register this week.planning to give CFA lvl 1seriously in June 09. Need some help and guidance of some experienced guys here.
Have a couple of questions:
Is the CFA material provided by them enough to prepare?
Do we also need additional material like schweser?
Which is the best and viable place to select as the center for the exam?
I was given this link for schweser notes:
<snip> Copyright material
All the best everyone
Thank You.

3. does the syllabus change year to year/ paper to paper?
thanks in advance....

Hi
Yeah you use the same books if ur enrolling to give the exam in the same year .Say if you fail to get through in june 09 you use the same books for giving the exam in Dec 09.But if you are planning to give it in june 2010,then usually CFA institute gives you a new set of books for a discounted price, since you have already registered with them.Just cofirm this from the official website.Always good to double check. All the very Best!!!!!!

Hi puys,
Its high time now,we should complete our course asap.I am Puneet preparing for June 09 L1.I will enroll myself this week. And i think Schweser notes are to be purchased as most of the puys who have taken CFA L1 recommend Schweser notes. So i think its worth buying and i will purchase them today.
So anyone taking coaching .I am planning to take private coaching. He is a CFA charter holder.
