hi guys!!! sanjay here......... I was planning for taking the CFA course in june 2009.... i was wondering if it would interfere with any of the colleges that i could be entering for MBA... and what is the list of centres available this time.....

I think wehile we have all the notes, little it would help if you gonna mug it without understanding what the concept really is. In Finance it is very difficult to remember things until you practice them in some manner. While Level 1 can be achieved, what is truly challenging is the end of level 3.

Hi All

I have been advised to use Schweser first. Because the official CFA material is too vast.
But the Schweser notes [ Book 1 to Book 5 ] seem to be as voluminous as the official material.

Am I right? If so, what is the advantage of using Schweser.

hi...

i have completed my engineering this yr. and i am interested in pursuing MBA+CFA.
plan to start my preparation for both now (have prepared to a certain extent for MBA exams)...

wanted to clear few doubts....

1. Should i register or JUNE or DEC '09 CFA exam?
is it a bit late to prepare of june exam? considering my non-finance background?

2. If u fail in Level 1 exam in june do u have to register again for dec 09 exam by paying $900+ or u can continue giving the exam till u clear?

3. when is the paper in june or dec, any fixed date or day (like Sundays only)

Hi,

It is not too late but then you have to spare lots of time to its preparation. with only 20 weeks left and you are not from finance background, you have to kind of eat sleep walk with your notes to get through the exams.

If you failed you have to enroll only for the exam for which the fees is appr. $300. the registeration fees is not payable again.

Normally the paper is in first week of the month mostly sundays. this June exam is on 6th or 7th depending on the test centre.

1. if i apply for June '09 and don't clear, can i use the same books of Dec '09 paper?

2.what about June '10?? will i need new books/material provided by CFA institute?

3. does the syllabus change year to year/ paper to paper?

Can anyone tell please tell me what is the exact procedure for applying for CFA exam level 1?
