I am also working on SAP Netweaver (all technologies including portals, MDM, XI-PI, xRPM and more) and i also wanna do an MBA and i do not want to leave SAP, so what will i do? Why dont you try to get some knowledge on FICO or may be SD or MM and then do your MBA in Finance or Opreations. Dont you think this will add great value to your career?
As correctly said by Marijuana user, it is a vast ocean and you should try to develop cross platform skills if you really want to add a great value to your profile. But doing an MBA will always help for sure..

What ever you say is right !!! But I would like to get back to few things you said ....
Getting knowledge on other functional modules like FICO , MM or SD would be great .. But that cant be counted as a part of career and what will I do having little knowledge ... One thing which is very sad about SAP is that seniors or people have knowledge dont want to share it. Infact they dont like others knowing more .... I am not aware if that is the scene at other domains as well ... Well I am getting off topic...
The point is doing MBA is a major advantage that not only you learn the bussiness that is driving the technology but also companies are more comfortable to trust a candidate with MBA for a higher positions. (Well that will come at later stage).
Which MBA will be apt for a career profile like us (technical)?
I am putting down some options which is purely as per my understanding.
It may be completely faulty cause I am just getting started in my research about jobs at management level. Please correct me and provide better alternative and explanation.
OPTION 1:
I would like to get into
Solution Architect kind of profile. I was going through SAP career site. And found some interesting positions related to Solution Architect. But most of the profile are in pre-sales and marketing genre.
DIRECTOR, GLOBAL PARTNER MANAGEMENT - TECHNOLOGY
Associate Solution consultant
Business Consulting
Incubator Business Opportunity Development
Sr. Solution Architect
Problem: Not sure of career path and prospects in pre sales or marketing. And one can get into it without doing MBA with couple of years of more exp.
OPTION 2:
New dimension products like SCM, CRM are good to be in and gaining importance. There is a new concept of BPX in SAP. Keeping all this in mind Oprations would be good option. Gaining domain exp for a year or two
.and getting back to SAP SRM.
Problem : It would be a very long route. is it worth
it?
OPTION 3: Combination of Financae , oprations and project management.
With this getting a idea of Bussiness in IT sector and logictics in general enter into Project Management or Product management or account manager at any SAP consulting firm.
Problem : Not sure if it will work out and wise if its a decision.
OPTION 4: Forget about about SAP, Do any MBA and get into any respective poisons which is appealing to you. And if you want get back to SAP if it suits you.
Problem: getting into anything other then SAP will mean giving up of 3-4 years of Technical exp in SAP which will be of no advantage at all..:dontgeti:
Which option will be best? Or is there any other way you want to put the whole MBA thing ?
