I dunno if Welingkar is the best inst. for distance learning... but believe me..
i have spoken 2 some of my friends doing it from Welingkar and they are pretty happy with it.

Basically my friend said one can give the examinations in one of the aptech centres and since it is online u can chose any of the centres close 2 ur residence.

Again... notes and all are good and people are quite helpful.

as far as ur query abt the importance of the distance learnin/part time course stands...

u can read this article i came across on one of the sites...

its a story of a gal called trupti who did a part time course and is doin pretty well now...

Guys Panjab University (Chandigarh) has stsrted distance program this year only .No of seats are 300. And there will entrance exam .The last date has been extended upto 27 June for entrance exam.The link for it is as below

I am planning to do my MBA in ICFAI through distance education..but the doubt i have is the certificate issued i will get from ICFAI Tripura..Many say ICFAI Hyderabad is good for distance education..

while I am doing DL PGD from Symbi so i know that in this university u will get the chance to meet the lectureres at every sem not more than 5-7 days . they arrange some intractive session once is a sem .

so there u can meet ppls also otherwise u can get them in diff-diff groups also on net.

If u just want to add some degree in your cv than its ok else otherwise its not a waepon to hunt for a new job. may be one can get some extra advantage over lackers.

PS: its authors personal thinking may differ from puys.

Distance education has really changed a lot over the years and now actually people get very jobs and nowhere behind a person doing full time course (don't know about India though). it also depends on which university you are doing the course from, but at the end it all depends on what ur capable of. also the distance learning MBA course from the best universities r very expensive. for information about best institutes for distance MBA - http://media.ft.com/cms/a47575cc-d31...00779e2340.pdf
