Hi I a complete beginner
Right now working with IT profile.
Did my B.Tech in materials from IIT Roorkee

Planning to go for a MBA next year.
However thats in November, so wana gain some finance knowledge in next few months.
I have some knowledge but no certifications. So this might be a right track.
I would like to start with Financial Markets: A Beginners' Module and later see others.

Ashish

hi ..

i jst took the " Financial Markets: A Beginners' Module..

its good for pppl who dunno anything abt fin markets etc ...

its very easy ... hardly takes 2-3 days to go thru the book even if u dunno anythhing .... go for it ..
ull get the basics ..

remaining modules like derivatives n all .. are a little bit challenging .... need sm knowledge / prep

i thnk MF / derivatives can be taken .. later on

if u r interested in finance as a major .. i think u shud go for them .. will give basics clearly

men never died of hardwork ....
....... they only die of boredom .

All of u NCFM enthusiasts, feel free to post ur queries.. I hv cleared 12 of the 14 modules, and could be of help..
Broadly, if u are an absolute lay(wo)man, Beginners' Module is recommended to begin with.. otherwise Securities Mkt Basic Module can be treated as the launchpad, which would give fair idea of many other modules too.. and then u can think which one to go for suiting ur career/academic interest..

Re: NCFM exams - NSE - 19-03-2008, 06:21 PM

Hi buck_was

I think i posted my query in some other forum too. Here it is:
__________________________________________________

I am engineering student and from past 2months I have been applying to finance firms(entry level posts) from past 2 months but still no reply from them. One would not want to include kumble in their team if they have murlidharan.
Same case applies here.Every one is redundant in takin engineers in entry level posts in financial firms. So I am thinking of doing certification courses from NCFM (NSE india) so that it can show that im interested and serious towards working in financial firms.Moreoever certification can help me in gaining an insight knowledge in finance.

What say puys ? Wil it be of any use ? and Is it actually required ??

Guide :(:(:(
