hi all
Starting a new thread here for all the FRM aspirants for this Nov 2008. I see that there is already an excellent thread having loads of info abt by FRM 2007 candidates. basically starting a new thread as the earlier thread has already reached humungous proportions.

Hoping for all the puys to come together and discuss their strategies and plans for frm 2008.

Also FRM 2007 veterans pls share your experiences and insight.

Hiii gmatcracker..

Was just going thru ur post... Ur post has just helped me in thinking about a new career avenue... I wud be highly interested in knowing more about FRM.. And wud appreciate information from ur end..

Can u tell me more about this course though i have read about it on GARP..

What are its prospects??
What recognition has it got?
Who awards this degree?
How long is this course for?
And any other detail whhich is important...

I wud wish to write this in 2008... N iguess this again has to be written in November...

Ur replies wud be highly appreciated... Thank you...

FRM junta please help me...

I am interested in giving FRM this year....so i have few queries...Currently i am working as SAP consultant...i hav done BTech(I.T.)...in total i hav 1.5 yrs of work ex....nd more than SAP Finance and stuffs related to it interests me.....now my questions..

1.As i m a techie..so b4 goin 4 FRM is it necessary for me to do some other course in Finance to get basic concepts of Fin or i can directly opt for FRM.

2.How much we hav to study to pass FRM xam. I m planning to giv CAT dis yr..+ i hav my job...so how much effort i hav to put..(considering all des).Is it tuf to pass xam???

sorry guys for the late response... was pretty hogged at work...
As far as the questions in this forum go, i can only answer the to the extent i have gathered info .FRM is a an examination conducted by GARP which is an association of risk professionals . Its conducted once a yr in the month of Nov, and supposed to be pretty tough with pass percentage ~ 30. Unlike CFA it has no or very little accounting portions. Mostly related to market risk management.

I have spoken to ppl around and also garnered that since FRM entails lot of risk management stuff, it is more closer to the trading front office systems and trading jobs.. I cant comment on the salary which an FRM degree will command as i have no idea abt it....

me too on board for 2008 FRM.... Its grae8 tht lot of people are posting their views on ths form...i hope tht in future more will join us.... ny ways will register s soon s registration process will open.... but befor tht want to look at study material....it vl b gr8 frm ny1 side if he can share the link for the study material for the same...last year material will also work...
