Me not from Infy... but I can tell you one thing. Loads of them from Infy take CAT... have heard about Libraries filled CAT test paper takers during noon....

The group that went to the IIML GD/PI before my group in Bangalore had about 4 Infocians out of 8 or 10
The panel member said to one guy "We don't want to hear about Infy... so many guys are from there " ... Serious... so rest assured... you are on the right path to stardom.

It is worth taking a job at Infy. Almost everyone from Infy prepare for CAT.

The work will not be too very intresting in most cases. But there are exceptions.

Schedule is not too hectic at Infy in most projects. And Infy has a better HR policy than most other companies of the same genre.

There is one risk however in joining Infy. Thats onsite chances. The money that one earns at onsite is so tempting that people decide to ditch CAT. Every year people decide to postpone CAT and avail an onsite chance. After a few years, they begin to feel this is a much easier way of earning money then slogging it out for CAT and then 2 years at IIMs.

I worked with infy,
left in oct 2003 to go for CAT.,
depends how much of a risk u want to take with CAT and how much u r prepared for the CAT.
what stage of prep are u in.. If you r just going through the basics of math n english then with INfy you wont make it .. if u have given CAT earlier seriously and have good basics and also getting a good enuf score of around 50 right away then u can join infy.. work and study (prpbably u need to give papers and practice , thats it)can b done alongside.!
I wasnt prepared at all so i QUit .
ALso it depends on the kinda project u r on. onsite etc.. and also the location.
In Chennai , there are good chances u wont find time to prepare..
In Pune .. its cool ..
Chennai has a hard working culture. no extracurriculars.. no great recreation center over there. no swimming pool , sports not much ..and ppl dont mind working till late (10 pm) in the evening.
In Pune , the culture is a lil less professional .. ppl tend to njoy life. and many leave rite at 6. So it depends where u go.. Blore is even cooler i guess.

One more thing .
IMP statistics..
Of the 150 odd ppl i knew in Infosys(my Trainee batchmates when i joined in Infy) only 2 (i and my roomie) left for studying for CAT and only us 2 have got any calls.. Not a single other student has got a call .
Infact there were a few guys who had got all six calls last yr. This yr with INFY then dint get any!!!
