Re: Aricent Vs. Infosys - 01-11-2007, 09:57 AM

Aricent is any day better than infy's work profile. As for Infy, The training will be good but after that u wll be on bench for atleast 2-5 months as I have got to know from production ppl here at Mysore.
Only one thing the Aricent letter they communicated earlier says due to lack of projects they are delaying the joinings, that shd be a concern over oraganization.

@parul: u hv quoted that bond amt is 75k, can u tell me the source as to where you got to knw this, I too plan to leave out from infy. the bond which we all got says that its 250/hr for all working hr the computers have been used + recruitment costs any beared by the company. so it comes to over a lakh. where did u get to knw that it is 75k.
plz let me knw on this.

Aricent has come up with an online training program for ppl like me.
Guess that ensures our joinings...
My Infy joining is going to be smetime in Nov...am planning to go for it...
Then, when and if Aricent calls to join, will weigh my options and make a decision...
There's a 1 yr bond in Infy against 75K...
Have heard a lot abt training of Infy, guess it will help me...
Moreover, ppl go gaga abt Infy's ambience et al...it would be interesting to witness things first hand...
Since you've been to both the co's, it would be gr8 if you could mark the differences in the work culture and growth prospects in the 2 co's...
Also, if I pay the bond amnt, will Infy provide me with the reqd relieving letter n expeience certific8s etc???
Thanks again!

I'm not very sure abt the bond yaar...
When they had come to r coll, the HR guy was like "Infosys does not Believe in Bonded Labour"
But I've been hearing abt bond from a lot of sources now.
Some say its a hidden bond like the one u mentioned. Some say its 75k some say its 1 lac! Some say its some fixed amount(say 75k) plus the variable amnt(no. of working m.c hrs)
Lols! It could be a DI caselet!
But in short, Im not very sure abt the exact amnt...No1 seems to be!

+ points of aricent

1. Quality work
2. Very good working culture
3. No strictness over dress... you can almost wear anything...
4. managers are human here
5. NCR
6. Better pay packet than infy.. (increments also good)

-ves
Aricent works only in telecom domain... whereas infy works in multiple domains
So if telecom slows down...aricent will be the worst hit

I have joined infy and I have filled the bond... so one thing u can be sure of that there is bond in Infy, for 1 year duration. I know the clauses therein and it doesn't say that its an exact amount of 75k or 1L. It just describes that u will need to pay the expenses that are borne by the company during your recruitment and training thereafter... besides 250 rs /hr for the duration for which u have used Infy computers... so that becomes quite huge.
@parul: I guess u should weigh your oppurtunities, does aricent really in position to take freshers at this point and moreover u shouldn't be liking to wait at home for mar,08 . or just look out for other oppurtunities, as I am doing rite now.

Re: Aricent Vs. Impetus - 30-05-2008, 05:15 PM

hi,
i in a bit of problem. i have offers from Aricent and Impetus. In Aricent i m getting testing and joining is near. In impetus i might get development but don't have its joining date.I really want to do development. What would u suggest considering the delay of joining of many companies should i join aricent or i should wait for some months for impetus..Also how do u rate impetus as a company i mean is it worth leaving aricent for impetus...
also what are the onsite chances and work culture at aricent/impetus..

and does it matter in MBA
to work with good company with low profile (Aricent)
to work with relatively lower company and good profile (Impetus)

Please Guide..
Thanks.
