hey tanveer thanks for the information mate. But what i want to ask is ICICI is conducting such programme for the first time do u think it would be worth it !!!
do u feel it would be better to go for a MBA than this PO programme,or else ull suggest to keep it as one of the options becoz probably it would be atleast better than a MBA degree from a 2tier collage.Pls give us ur opinion on that.

Is is IFBI program...

If its PGDBRO program than the details is as follow...

I doubt on the package part....

As i enquired into 2 centres and both said that the pay package would be of minimum 14500 per month which would be around 1.7Lakhs per annum. Also they said that posting would be of officer level.

Also they said that package might vary incase of centres.

I don't think the CAT aspirants can think about this as a permanent career alternative to doing the MBA. And because one needs to undergo one year's training, this indicates that this should not be taken up as a temp work while you prepare.

This program is basically a very good opportunity for the youth who are talented but in absence of professional degrees, and because of cut-throat job admission exams, finding it very difficult to enter into a profession. One year's of training may turn the person into a herd core professional, I think very few would still opt for MBA after that.

Thanks a ton to Tanveer for providing enough information in a single post.

To answer the questions on a serial basis..

ICICI is probably conducting the PO selection on a formal structured basis on such a grand scale for the first time.

Earlier selection was done in a sporadic manner.

As far as comparison with the MBA is concerned - I think an MBA should serve your career interest better because even as a Probationary Officer after a few years you will face the "Glass Ceiling" where you will find that you may not get promoted because you do not have the requisite qualifications!

Not to mention the frustration of finding that your boss is somebody 5 years junior to you who has just passed out of a Premier MBA school!

So unless you are contemplating the MBA from a really pathetic place I would recommend the MBA over the PO programme.

Regards
Tanveer
