Know testing is not a mundane job. IF you understand it well and have interest in it, you can do well and have a great career in it.

There is nothing as if there wont be much tension in testing.

It depends more on the company and the kind of project.

First of all why do u think that development is not gonna work 4 u? During the initial training period Infy will teach u whatever is required. and the rest of the thing u will learn when u start working in the live project. I also don't know if Infy is really going to put u in testing for sure. They normally allocate people based on requirement.

Don't worry about the career growth and onsite opportunity in testing. I don't think there is any different salary structure for people working in dev and testing. Salary is purely dependent on experience and performance appraisal. Re mundane job, I'd say most of the software jobs are so.

Re: Software Testing Career - 15-07-2007, 08:30 PM

I h ave been working in testing field for more than 3years. I feel i made a right decision in going in for this, not because i was weak in programing or this was a job with less pressure but the field exited me. If you think that this is field with less pressure think again. No product will go live or be deployed in field with out testing. You will also face the heat during the delivery just as nay developer. Regardign onsites its highly subjective i mean it depends on your project and that has nothing to do with company. if you have nay further queries revert i shall be happy to answer
