I dont think that can be said categoratively as Testing is an integral part of any software company and inspite of the availability of many automation tools ( which are very sophisticated btw. It's fascinating to read about how the tools work and the underlying algorithms which are used to build the product. ) I think you will still need manual intervention. But it is horses for courses of course. Some tasks will be challenging some might not. Anyway it would be better if you actually heard from the horse's mouth so have asked a friend who is a Testing lead in my present company to give her views on this. So till she gets back lets see if anyone else in this forum has any further to add.

i would suggest dont go for testing.

1) its a monotonous job and u would get bored.

2) minimal onsite opportunities.

3) low pay compared to developers few yrs down the line.

4) its a feild looked down upon.

5) low growth prospects.

hi,

My few cents on Testing:

Pros:
1.You'd have birds view of product/application rather than
individual modules.

2.You can play around as you like

cons:

1. You may feel bored if ur testing same application for
more duration.

2. you feel depressed bcoz ur frenz r in development.

But testing would be very interesting if u test a product rather than
simple applications, in general functionality testing is better than
"Text Box" Validation and very important thing is the domain expertise u get.

Hope this helps.

Something is better than nothing, but nothing
is better than nonsense.

Hi Ideacrash

Well I am ISTQB Foundation level Certified, and would like to mention the advantages of the same :

1. Market Value of this certification is high, if u clear it, it is assumed that you have got ur basics of software testing cleared.

2. Very helpful ini large Process oriented companies..

3. finally it helps in doing quality testing !

thnx!

Cheers !!!
