carrer in management consulting - 07-05-2007, 02:23 PM

hi guys & gals

i have a querry , i am a naval officer (Mechanical Enginner by proffession ) , i am pursuing an MBA from IGNOU. frankly speaking i am doing my studies sincerely , but i have realised that correspondence courses has their inherent limitations , so i want to know what is the market value of these course if u couple it with my millitary trainning & various appointments which has given me indepth understanding about , leadership , org. theory , HR , strategy etc .

secondly , i want to pursue a carrer in MC , but i can see that MC firms recruit from top notch colleges only . i will most likely get a chance to do 06 month - fulltime PG certificate course from one of the IIMs as a part of the new initiative between armed forces & IIMs. will that help me to a fetch a job with any of the top MC firm ??

experts comments , frank opinions will be higly appreciated .

regards

datta
