L'oreal:Management Trainee Program - 07-04-2007, 01:20 AM

Hi All,

A friend of mine who is in her final university year (undergraduate) is considering joining L'oreal as a Management Trainee.

Her work would initially involve sales, understanding consumer behaviour and providing inputs to the brand manager. Also there would be multi-brand exposure during the training period.(approx 1.5 yrs)

After the training period, she would be assigned to a specific brand.

Any suggestions/advice on the following counts would be extremely helpful.
1. This experience as a path-way to securing a MBA from leading unis abroad.
2. Work content.(challenges, responsibilities,learning,etc)
3. Overall fit in a Long-term Career in Marketing.

Thanks in advance.

1. Foreign univs dont consider a student on one aspect--it sums up GMAT, acads, work exp, social work, extracurr and other factors. this kind of exposure will certainly be gud, more if your friend can do a trip or two to France/EU L'oreal offices.

2. Gud work, challenging with lot of exposure. gr8 profile. MBA mktg grads will die for this. provided the profile is actually what you quote and not a sales/distribution profile.

3. Will take to a brand mgmt career in mktg. alternatively ad agencies or mktg consulting co.s
