MBA Job Profiles available abroad - 02-04-2007, 11:28 AM

Hi!
Can anyone throw some light about what sort of profiles are available for MBA people with some work experince in India?
I am planning to move to USA after 4-5 years after doing my MBA at IISc this year
What profiles should I look at to make my travel smooth?

Well, I am not the best person, but still my two cents:

First of all, the profiles you should look for depends on the career choice you have made at IISc. That is, it depends very much on the company u have chosen during campus and what u do in 4-5 years now onwards.

Let us consider an indicative example. IISc's MBA is open only for Engineers. So, probably depending on your prior work-ex and undergrad course, you might have chosen an IT Company (role as a Business Analyst or Business Development Manager) or a KPO/Consultancy where you might have joined as a Consultant.

Now if u r in IT as a Business Analyst, you have the potential to become Lead Analyst in 4-5 years from now. You might have to do lots of onsite trips and then you can probably shift to one of the company in US as Lead Business Analyst or Project Manager.

Probably Pagals here can provide better advice if you provide your background in general terms (not necessarily naming the companies).

Hard Work is not known to have killed anybody, but Why take a chance?
