career in finance: need urgent help

I have Just given My B.sc Final year exams ..waiting for my results..planning to appear for CAT n Other Entrances this year. How Feasible it is for a Science Graduate to get into finance, as i do not have any knowledge regarding accounts n all.. i have heard that top MBA institutes do not accept a science graduate for finance.. how true is that ??
secondly i am also pursuing a PG diploma course - International Business operation thru Ignou . will it add to my advantage to get into finance ?? kind of confused !!!

yes am surely giving CFA, but as went thru syllabus of CAIA it seemed almost same( atleast arnd 60-70%) so wanted to ask its global recognition as a brand?????

Then you need to move out of your current assignment as quickly as you can... you've said that you are a s/w professional-- what is your UG qual and your PG (if any)

I am a software engineer having 6 years of experience in telecom emebedded system. I am currently doing MTECH from IIT-Delhi in computer science and there after want to move to management in a couple of years. I would like to know your opinion on something which would be of intrest to many aspiring people like me. I want to do MBA in Finance and there after move to a private equity firm and use my technical knowledge as well as newly acquired financial knowledge to be part of bigger team running or making policies of an IT or telecom company in which the equity firm will invest. In other words, I am looking for a mangement profile where in I could use the knowledge acquired in Telecome domain.
1. Which college is most suitable for me in India or US region?
2. Will it be beneficial to do course like CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or charter from Institute of Actuaries of India?
3. Which short term course you suggest in area of finance computing and statistics which could help develop expertise in finance?
I would be grateful for your time and suggestions.

hi all,

I have around 6 years of experience in embedded telecom development. I have a bachelors degree in computer science and also about to finish masters degree from IIT in same field. I want to move on managment in finance and wanna go in equity research with special focus on telecom and IT sector.

Will MBA in finance and CFA help me in that? I am really confused as to how to go about it.
