late preparation for MBA exams - 07-11-2006, 07:28 PM

hey guys,
i have made a decision this week.
i hav decided to prepare for this years mba exams.
now this is what i know :
1 i have decided late
2 there s a lot of work to do
3 i dont have much time.
4 there s only a little chance of suceeding

now here s list of things i dont know:
1 where do i start my preparation now?
2 what books to use?
3 which places do i have the max chance of suceeding?

i am wondering if there is a kind soul around here who could advice me!

if there is one, please get back to me ASAP!
till then , i will try to figure this problem myself!

take care ppl!

Before answering your questions, some questions from my side:
1) Which exams do you plan to write?
2) Which are the type of colleges you are targetting?
3) How much time would you be getting to prepare?

You need to specify a bit more about your plans for anyone here to help

Ok Dont have much idea about MIB, but SNAP for symbioisis and FMS exams are the ones which I believe can be cracked even if you start now. The level of questions wouldn't be as high as in CAT. And if speed is your forte there is no reason that you wouldn't do well in these exams.

4-5 hours is a huge amount of time. And you can work wonders if you start now have a proper time-table and follow it.... Depending on your background just brush up your basic quant skills and try solving some sample papers of these exams. As for material try getting hold of some coaching class material from someone, or else you can also find material on PG itself if you look around properly. Also you can go for the regular books like R.S. Agarwal ones, etc. Also SNAP has a section for GK. So keep yourself updated by reading newspapers and magazines.

And yes you have a very good chance of succedding if you plan properly. SO stop worrying on that front. Regular prep from now on should definitely help you succeed in these exams
