I have been closely following this thread, and have inferred that the following will be sufficient for the exam prep (given i hail from a non finance background)
1)start with JC Hull, then Gujrati
2)then go on to FRm handbook
3)schweser/bionic turtle notes
4)core readings
Is this list sufficient or do ppl read something else as well like for statistics or basic fin market stuff before jumping into the FRM prep stuff
Sorry if the question above sounds v naive but really need the help of some puys here to clear my doubt.

Its better you have a basic understanding of finance before you jump in. FRM is tough.dont underestimate it. I know CFA charterholders and IIT Grads flunking out because of overconfidence.
You'll find it difficult to grasp the concepts in Hull unless you already have an understanding of the terms used in derivatives etc.Engg gives you a good headstart.but hey, many engineers work in risk mgmt these days and strong stats and probability knowledge is a given .
plus if you are working long hours (likey if you are a s.w guy) it may be difficult to spare many hours a day starting from scratch. if you are still asking basic questions at this point in time, it may be too early for you to attempt 2008 Nov realistically speaking.
