FRM 2008 Study Materials are still not out. GARP has just release the AIMs so it would be time when the Course Providers are ready with the 2008 Study Materials.

Only FRM Core Readings 2008 will be available in the market presently. Schweser FRM Notes would be available not before late May.

Theres not much of a Syllabus change in 2008 except for Quant Risk. This year Schaums Probability Book has been replaced by Econometrics - Gujarati.

So Paana Kaba we will wait for ur contributions on Econometrics.

man as you mentioned paypackage after clearing frm depends on edu background & workex then how much package can a MA(Economics) from top university & FRM expect (no work ex). Morever will job be easily available with this combination and if so what profile can one except.

The FRM Handbook 4th Edition is available at Rs.700
Core readings will be available by the end of this month.
Last year the price was 1500/- Should be around the same figure this year.

Schweser will be available in May. The price should be around 1500/- for that as well.

243 Days Left for the FRM 2008 Exam.

Have u all started with the studies, Its roughly around 8 months to go for the Exam.

There is hardly any support, from the other members in this thread. Everyone needs to contribute.

Also I have around 28 members registered at the Orkut Community, but none of them has made any post on the community thread.

Has anyone here planned to buy the Schweser FRM 2008 Materials. Ya, I know that its available at Laxmi Xerox Centre in Mumbai. But they offer only limited material.

- Laxmi Xerox will Offer only photocopy of 5 books that will ony cover the Main Topic Areas. It would be priced at around Rs. 1500 - 1800.

But If we form a group of say 5-6 people we will have the following advantages.

Schweser's Essential Solution is priced at $349. It will cost us Rs. 15000(considering 1$ = Rs. 43). If the group is big, the cost can come down to Rs. 2000 -3000 per head. we would have the following benefits if we form a group.

I guess for Mumbai puys it should not be a major problem, but knowing Chennai I can equally vouch for this as many Chennaites will have an added benifit of saved postal charges and all

I wanted to know how the course is, is it recognized and reputed in d industry??? i am currently doing my Bachelors of Accounting & Finance frm HR College Mumbai, in d 2nd yr rite now (will enter 3rd yr in 2 months). Is it feasible 4 me 2 giv d course??? I'm interestd in Securities research, especially forex and debt markets. Would FRM be of any value to me???

Know what!! no FRM certified professional will reveal their compensation information, thats because its considered to be CONFIDENTIAL.

But now for all my fellow PGites, I will reveal some INSIDER Information on compensation

A Fresher FRM can earn anywhere about Rs.5,000 pm for a start.

Yes!! (Five Thousand Indian Rupees per month).

Also, if you do not have Excellent academic records(Merit Rank holder-10th & 12th) or Good work exp, then you will need to work FREE for atleast 2 years, and mind you - u wont get anty workex cert at the end of it.

So I hope you register for the FRM pretty quickly and take opportunity for working FREE after clearing the FRM exam.
