any idea what Career Band B1 means in wipro...plz reply ASAP

hi c21, in wipro and every other big IT orgn jobs are categorized in bands. ie. A, B, C etc with variations like a1, b1, a2, b2, c2 and so on. so depending upon your qual degree, institution, experience etc you are hired in a suitable band. most of these band details are kept confidential. for entry level the bands are strict but for senior levels they are relaxed if there is a great demand of that skill/person/exp.
depending upon your perf u will grow up to b3, c1 and so on. ppl frm better instt like IIT/IIM, etc get hired in higher bands even with same level of qual.

Band B1 is for normally for people upto 4 years of work-ex.

what are the different grades\designation in wipro . i have been offered the desig of software engg. . i have 2 yrs of exp. is this normal desig in wipro for 2+ exp guys ???
