hi i wanna know what are the prospetcs of an mba in international business ???

what knid of job opportunities will one have after doing an mba in international business.... ????

i have searched some institutes providing international business as a specialisation.....

but i have been scoring around 75%ile in mock cats so dunno if i will be able to make into one of these

can you also provide me some other institutes where i can apply for mba international business with cat %ile of around 80.... i have a work ex of 6 months with Convergys India Servies and am a B.com from DU correspondence

what if there are no campus placements for that institute. will the students

get the job if the institute is not offering campus placements.

This course is introduced for first time by the institute, so can we expect

the placements or job after completing the course.

Hello Ppl,
I am an Engineer by educational qualification.
For the past two years i have been working in our own Merchant Export firm.
Now, i want to do a course on IB, but i am confused whether to do it from india or abroad.
According to me following are the pro`s of doing it in india :
a. you will get to learn indian trade policies
b. also, other major policies and taxation in the course will be based on indian system

pro`s of doing the course abroad:
a. networking - which is very important for doing international business
b. learning new business tactics from students of various countries
c. getting a new dimension of international trade

After my course, i might work for 6-12months in a company.
Otherwise i would come back and grow my family business.

Kindly advise whether i should go for the IB course abroad or in india.
Also, please suggest universities in india and abroad for IB

What I could gather from the posts made, aspirants have been making a made of wrong assumption of considering IB as a course meant for export import management. Please note that a course on Foreign Trade targets export and import management better than IB.Hence if you intend to learn export import management and make a career in Import export Management a Foreign Trade is a more apt course.

IB goes beyond Foreign Trade and Import Export Management wherein the course equips one for various positions in MNCs etc. The profile offered may vary from international marketing, international procurement to domestic marketing. The relevance of the course offered would improve in the years to come when domestic firms will move to an international arena. The course offered usually is a general management program with focus on all the disciplines of management.

Actually, learning only about import & export is not goal.
I am looking for a course which is based on :
1. International Marketing + International Business
2. Entrepreneurship/General Management
3. Knowledge of foreign trade

We also have another firm which manufactures mineral processing machinery.
For that we want to expand our clientele from india to other countries.

Do you still think IB is not for me?
Can you suggest a course which suits my requirement?

India or Abroad?
Please give a list of Uni`s.

Well if these are your goals then a MBA in IB would surely help you. I am not sure of universities which are good in MBA in IB. Thunderbird School is considered to be the best for IB and in India surely the faculty of IIFT shall be the best for IB.

I have one of my friends in Thunderbird. If need be I can pass his contact info and understand about the course from the student himself.
