In Pune Stalla conducts classes for CFA(U may visit Stalla.com for details). The name of the institute is New Horizon Education services(Representative of Stalla International). They have already conducted one class(Ethics) and I'm planning to join before next class(12th July). You may call 26169533 for details.

Thanks

If we can find 7 more people we can probably form a batch and ask them to take up coaching for us.

I have one year of Work Ex in software (prod dev.). I am planning for CFA certifications. Does the CFA level 2 and 3 have any pre-requisites of work ex. in finance/investment domain. Also, if I continue to be in Software till my level-3, What are the chances of switching domain after CFA (considering I shall be having around 3-4 yrs of WOrk Ex. by then. ? Please put your comments.

Hi Anshulpan I guess you have gave it a real thought before deciding on a career change-over, since you have only one year's of work-ex. However if you sure of a career change, I can suggest that you start looking for a KPO/Analytics domain job after you complete you level 1-since you will have some domain knowledge by then. Level2 and 3 does not require any relevant work-ex as such. However, to avail the CFA charter (Remember that clearing the three levels does not automatically qualify for CFA title), you ought to have 4.5 years of relevant experience-by relevant I mean hardcore finance ex. If you switch-over after your level1, by the time you finish your level 3, you will have at-least 1 year of relevant experience(If you manage to clear level 2 & 3 back to back), which will come in handy for achieving your CFA charter. Remember, that CFA is super-specialty course, superior to a conventional MBA (Finance) and somewhat similar to MS(Finance) from US Varsities. Hope this helps

Hi
I am new to pagal guy.i was thrilled to see an exclusive thread for CFA.
Well i need some inputs from you all people.I am a MBA graduate passed out in 2007.Well i was always interested to start my career in Finance but unfortunately i landed up in IT doing ERP consulting.I always thought of moving out in finance field but due to many reasons i couldn't.In spite of recession and Finance firms being the most affected sector, I want to move into Investment related companies.I want to know whether doing CFA would help me in this?

Firstly,I dont agree that the CFA charter is similar to MS Finance. MS Finance is basically financial engineering and the CFA exam is hardcore finance. Secondly, one cant compare an MBA or the CFA charter as the focus of the two courses is on different things. Many MBAs take the CFA exams and many ppl pursue an MBA after the CFA charter.
