hey, i think if u`re 100% sure that u wanna start your own business, then i think u shud focus on a specialized enterpreneurship program like the one u mentioned instead of a full time regular MBA. a regular MBA doesn`t have a specific focus on enterpreneurship, u`ll just have one or two modules on enterpreneurship and the rest wll be more focussed on the corporate world. not that u cant apply the management concepts of corporate companies to starting ur own business, but a regular MBA is too diluted to focus on enterpreneurship alone. u`ll be wasting ur time doing a lot of modules that u dont need as an enterpreneur. go straight to an enterpreneurship corse i suggest. in case u aren`t starting a business from scratch and are taking over a family business, there`s a special family business management course offered by some institutes. do some research on that as well. do an enterpreneur course ONLY if u are absolutely sure that`s what u wanna do, coz i dont think there`s much of a placement scene for such courses, so u might not find a job after doing such a course in case u change ur mind midway or in the future.

Approvals and celebrations will rarely surround your inner decisions and choices to follow Personal Truth. You will be challenged and taunted: “Who do you think you are, anyways?” And, indeed, through your choices and decisions, that is precisely the question you are answering–to yourself.

nice thread.. guys plz help me out ...

i am saurabh gupta from kolkata

B.TECH in electronics and coomunication .. with DGPA 7.75

boards : 12th = 69%

10th = 79% both from West Bengal board of secondary education.

i am working with a local sales firm as a sales supervisor and i do not intend joining a software or other technical job right now .. since i am focussing on my MBA ...

i am confused whether i am at a loss by not looking for a tech job now ??

i want job satisfaction which i can have after a proper MBA only as then i will have multiple avenues before me ...

WHAT DO U SAY GUYS ??

by the way i also started my own business in chemicals ..
and entrepreneurship might be on the cards for me ...

Re: Entrepreneurship or B-school, which one is better - 11-12-2007, 04:30 PM

hi Everyone,I am perplexed, I am following this thread for quite a long time, As a science graduate, my interest grew in finance: when I was doing my PGDM(Marketing/HR), So I thought of doing MS(finance) as recommended by ICFAI as they mention that I will get detail idea of finance. Well then someone else recommended that I should do MS (accounting). In this regard, I have following question.1. Could anyone please tell me, which is better MS(finance) or MS(accounting) 2. Is these above courses recognised by AICTE, as claimed by ICFAI.I would appreciate, If someone could provide me with the right information. Thanks in advanceRegardsANU

Oops ……… I am sorry my previous post was for Icfai Hyderabad thread ......... not for this thread.................As for starting your own business……. It’s a good thought ……… but u should sketch down your plans, There are many govt institutes which provide short tem courses like……… Ministry of small scale industries……their certificates are valid especially, when u have to register ur company and they ask for experience certificate in that particular field…..U can even check out these http://admissionnews.com/collegedeta...isimumbai.com/ http://www.nimsme.org/index.phphttp:...p/getstart.htm
