why not start an internet/marketing business to gain some practical experience as well as doing night class for your MBA... Good to work hard not forgetting paper qualification

Re: Entrepreneurship or B-school, which one is better - 09-02-2009, 12:07 PM

hello everyone..
i am a final year student of electronics engineering. my long term career goal is to set up my own sports management company or a sports goods company dealing with sports equipments.

i do not want to get into entrepreneurship write aftr my pg. but i am sure about the fact that 10 year down the line i want to do this. i am a fresher and have no knowledge about the business structure..

so my question is whether a general mba or a pg frm col like edi/sp will be better for me??

i have got calls from ximb/imt/scmhrd..... should i look into such courses or directly go for edi/sp.....

i beileve courses from edi are for people who directly want to jump into ent..
i way i have planned my career is to first get a general mba degree..or may be specialise in marketing...
then i donot mind working in an fmcg company as a sales manager/brand manager to get some relevant exp...

would be happy to get some suggestions..
thanz in advance

Hi, good that you have started to think about your career at this stage. As you have mentioned, pharmacy student of undergraduate level like you can have a good career if planned effectively and wisely. Beside taking regular programs in MBA, you should go for some specific specialized courses.

While going through this thread, I have noticed that only emi is discussed here. Still other institutes are also there. As I provided link in previous post, I dont think that was sufficient to provide much information about the course in Entrepreneurship. Check my next post, where I've written more about this course.
