hi guys, thanx for the quick response. It is helping me a bit although I realise that its still a long way to go..... can u please throw some light if the captive firms like HSBC, J P Morgan recruit freshers in the field of equity reasearch and if yes what sort of credentials do they actually look for.....
and although I am referring internet for materials... I want a book or some study material that is one-stop-shop of references for a fresher like me that might prepare me well for future (technical) interviews..... any recommendations?
and let me know frnds... which are the good companies...(based on all the criterion like knowledge, growth, good salaries etc...) to go for.... I am asking because although the answers might be the big shots like J.P. Morgan but since I somehow feel that right now they won't at all be inclined to recruit me... which are the not-so-hot shot companies to go for.... ?? thnx in advance folks

I'm looking for a marketing job...even if its an internship..i'm sure ill manage from thr..

Can any of you help me with the companies I could try for..

hey for those people who are looking at a finance job before the MBA I have to say IREVNA is recruiting. It is a financial research firm. They even had an ad in the Hindu Opportunities section yesterday (11.1.06)

The ad though specified only commerce graduates. But try applying anyway and mention the fact that you want to do finance.

funny bit is that the ad actually mentioned that the job would be a great stepping stone for people who want to do their MBA or CA later on! First time I am seeing that!!

This is the topic where i can share some of my experience.

Just to begin with I'm a Software Engineer at McAfee Inc,Bangalore. I'm joining Futures First on 13th oct.Profile -Derivative Analyst

I passed out in 2006, got 97.81 %ile in cat06. 99.12 %ile in XAT.
Rejected in XLRI PI, Rejected in NITIE, Rejected in XIMB
Offer from IMT GHZ ,I rejected it

I joined McAfee and having been working for one and a half year.I was always bothered by the question "WHY MBA" in every interview i attended.I wanted to have that question never directed to me.

My First Small Step - NCFM ( Basic Module) and then Derivative market(Dealer)

I had known abt the company Futures First ,my good luck was a friend of mine working there and already a renowned trader. He referred me

Trust me if u guys have a good profile they will call u instantly. The are in a recruiting spree. I got 2 days to prepare.I knew what they ask.I was all in vedic mathematics and Data Interpretation for 48 hours.

I eventually made it after rigorous written and interview rounds.Joining Futures First Gurgaon. It surely is a rewarding career , but above all it alligns my profile to something i'm interested in when i do and MBA.I do not want to land back to Software after MBA.

I'm happy .No more "WHY MBA?"

I SWEAR OF DRUNK I"M NOT GOD
