PG GMAT meets - Chennai

Okay - this should make interesting news

Sathya, Manu and I had a meeting on Saturday evening @ Cafe Day (Ispahani Center). We fixed the meeting only on Saturday morning and I sent out information to two other admits, but i guess i was very late in conveying the news. Anyways, the three of us did meet and had a great time talking about apps and many other things

There were two interesting results of the meeting:
1. we decided to plan another meet, with all other admits from Chennai.
2. we decided to hang up and meet prospective GMAT takers and MBA applicants from chennai.

The first meeting is happening pretty soon, so all you chennai admits please get in touch.

We decided to have the second meeting after R2 results are out - sometime in late March or April. This way, we thought, there would (hopefully) be more admitted students. I am anyway posting the information now because this way we can plan well in ahead and avoid the situation where someone cannot attend the meet due to delay in communication

But even the Freebie offerings didn't enthuse junta enough.

What we did then for Kunal's thread can be done for this also. Iday, if you can create a banner or image like the one currently abv ShoutBox, Apurv/Rohit'll put it up so that more and more junta can see it. Hopefully you'll have better luck than Kunal did.

i know kunal's thread. There is a similar thread for bangalore junta as well - as per the latest schedule, they're shud be meeting today dunno whether it materialized or not.

I made the post almost 3 months earlier only to gather enough ppl - all those thread i think had very limited time. I already got one response from a prospective applicant. i know 3 other admits who'll come. Let's see how it goes.

Well, a meet happened in Pune too. I met Govi and Inblue last week.
Its kind of funny how this meet happened - I know Govi since almost 1.5 yrs now and meet (or atleast speak with him ) quite frequently. I came in contact with Inblue hardly a fortnight ago. Inblue and I were planning to meet some time ago but it did not work out. Govi was also planning to meet her but even that did not happen.

On Thursday evening, through an interesting set of events, we decided to meet arnd 8:30 @ Barista-MG Road( I think all my PG meets have started at Barista )
I left office (Hinjewadi, Pune) at 7:30, drove arnd 22 kms and reached the venue by 8:15. Govi came arnd 8:25 and Inblue came arnd 8:30. Govi and I had met Inblue for the first time; so all of us interacted for a while with general q (company, work ex, etc etc).
Since Inblue and I wanted to have dinner, we decided to move to PizzaHut. (we sat in Barista for close to 15-20 min but left the place without ordering anything ).

Then at PizzaHut, we started talking abt all things - hobbies, gmat/application experience etc. (Both Inblue adn Govi are into painting) Since Inblue and I are done with our apps and Govi is about to take GMAT, we were sharing our experiences with him. Then we also talked abt our PG experience, other PGites (Iday: i remember Inblue talking abt u being very disciplined. wish I had that quality <sigh>)

Finally. we wrapped up our meet arnd 10:15 and decided to meet again atleast once in a month's time or so.

That was it for that meet from my side. Inblue/Govi - u guys want to add something more??

Again - no one showed any interest. I ended up meeting up with just 2 people - at Airlines at 4pm as promised on the thread. We had a marathon 3hour session on everything you wanted to know about GMAT*

Okay guys from Chennai and around - what about a meet early Feb. I kept thinking about it and realized that if we plan meets in April, we would probably be able to meet twice before all the admitted students start flying out one by one. So i fell back to the age old adage - "The best time is NOW"

So chennai-ites (and anyone else who's interested and can afford to make it to the meet) let me know and we'll plan the meet based on everyone's convenience.

PPS: Just in case guys get misled, just like vinrap below. The meet is for people with admits, ppl who've finished GMAT and are applying, ppl who are planning to take GMAT and apply next fall, ppl who wanna simply get info abt GMAT for their "may be" plans. Sure Iday we can meet. But i thing i would like to say i am newbie in GMAT preparation. So will require guidance from the ones who have recieved admit.

I will try my best to add value to the meet from my side.

one in Mumbai on 21st Jan
& another one in Pune on 4th Feb...

Now Pune meet is gonna be successful.
