BSchool is an earthly hype overall and here i am only agreeing with mintzberg... these wouldnt be my original thoughts...

But IIM perse is not hype... its not exactly like an international bschool... In a Country where the avg man earns what 12K a year? these schools more or less guarantee u around 50+ times that salary... Lets compare it with the US where a top Bschool would guarantee you 3-4 times the avg national earnings there...
So if you are mad about the IIMs in india you can only be considered normal...
The hard facts maybe interesting but i dont think hype suits the current situation, only that quite a few things about the IIMs and other top bschools need to change...

But if you want to think really deep then find out whether a Bschool helps at all in the long term to be a great leader or manager and read stuff on what factors you should be aware of that so that your degree doesnt limit your thinking style to avoid your degree actually hurting you when you really reach the top with the help of this degree...

The highlight is "setting up of benchmarks" I think this holds good even for our preparation for the CAT. 4 some ppl this will workout i.e. setting their own bechmarks for the CAT prep
