I agree
What is more interesting is the strategy McDonalds has followed in Bangalore & Kolkatta.Just one or two outlet for sometime, let people adopt the concept.Make people come to them and taste the food and give feedback if any.Despite the fact that Bangalore do have a large base of North Indian crowd and people with very high disposable income and people just spend loads of time and money eating out on Saturday and Sunday.
In Mumbai also,McDonalds hasn't make huge strides. This may be due to the fact that Vada Pav is far more popular, affordable, available and quick 2 eat.
And look at McDonalds' Delhi strategy, more than 50 stores(i guess its lot more than that now) in and around Delhi and all are doing great.
North India has a different culture when it comes to food eating habits. The tikki-chats,choles,samosas,parathas n all
Most interesting would be, how Bengalis would react to something like Vada Pav.
I think Jumbo King would go ahead and open outlets in cities like Nagpur,Aurangabad,Nashik. These cities are growing and its better to get a get a first mover advantage.
Also, they should look into cities where there are no famous dish of that area. For example-Bhubaneswar,Indore,Bhopal,Raipur,Lucknow,Kanpur,Su rat,Baroda, etc. Not metros.
