We welcome on board Mr Tate Jones, Director of Recruiting at the Hult International Business School, Dubai who will be answering all your queries related to admissions to Hult Dubai.

You can post all your queries about Hult Dubai here, whether about the admissions process, criteria, faculty, course content, placements and careers and what have you.

Hello Mr. Jones,

Thanks for sparing time to answer questions from prospective students. I have a list of questions that I would like you to answer.

1. Can the same faculty teach at Hult Boston and Hult Dubai if the sessions start at the same time at both the campuses?

2. Hult is new in dubai, what efforts is the school making to see that its students get placed after the MBA.

3. For students joining in say sept 08 in dubai, job fairs happen in May ( one happened last year in DAC/DKV ) but during this period most students would be in shanghai / boston.

4. If someone wants to complete graduation from say Boston campus (after getting enrolled to an mba starting in dubai in sept 0 , what are the ways in which one can get a job in that area?

5. Regarding Erika finance loans, will a US cosigner be required? and what is the maximum amount of loan that the institute will give ?

6. What are the scholarship amounts that are available for Dubai 2008 ?

It would be great if you could answer these questions at the earliest.

Got an admit from HULT.Decision pending for the follwing concerns .Would appreciate if the admission director can spare some time to answer these queries .Would be great for the students & the school to attract such students .
For a student; accepting the admission offer at Dubai campus in Sep-2008,needed few clarifications :
1Would the students get the placement assistance from HUlt Career Services in all the locations ie DUbai,US,Lonon & China
2.A student pursuing 6 months in Dubai & last 6 months in US,wud he /she b able to get OPT visa in US.
3.Can students of this batch epect to go for a exchange program in the financial capital of London by start of new year 2009 as that wud greatly facilitate career aspirations of students for finance.HOw far HULT is foreseeing to assist the students in this regards.
4.Why are the scholarship/aid decisions being made after the acceptance fee submission Why aren't they offered along with the admissin offer as done in most respected BSchools.

Dear Pranav,
Congratulations on your recent admission to Hult.
You will be provided with free accommodation, 1/2 KM away from campus. Shuttle buses will run frequently to and from campus. Rooms will accommodate 2 students and each room will have a bathroom/shower and kitchenette. You can upgrade to a single room for 5000 USD.

1.Yes. Course scheduling is flexible. Courses in Boston and Dubai can be staggered to allow the same professor to teach at both campuses.

2.Hult’s corporate development team has already begun developing relationships with organizations, identifying recruitment opportunities and gathering industry updates for the region. Our Dubai based Corporate Development staff are meeting with recruiters and hiring managers (multinationals & local firms) across the region to ensure that Hult graduates have access to employment opportunities in the region in 2009

3.All relevant career fairs in DKV and DIAC, will be attended by Hult Career Development staff to develop and deepen contacts, and recruiters at the fair would be able to consider suitable students for roles by referring to the CV book or the online database of student resumes. Understanding that recruitment opportunities happen throughout the year, both Career Services and Corporate Development will endeavor to keep students informed, updated, and in contact with hiring firms. We will do this by offering access to Virtual Career Fairs (see: MBA-Exchange bi-annual Global MBA Virtual Career Fair), posting job opportunities and contacts via our careers website, and working with faculty and administration to allow you time off to attend important recruitment events (case-by-case).

4.Students from both campuses are assisted by the Career Service Centers on each campus on career management; any recruitment opportunities that are surfaced by the team from the various centers would be open for application by all suitable students. There are a number of ways to pursue job opportunities in the US:
MBA Career Fairs: There are a number of MBA specific career fairs held in Boston and the US that students will have access to (and be invited to).
Corporate Events and Job Postings: Corporate Development organizes a number of corporate events (Executive Speaker Series, corporate presentations, etc) that will offer students access to jobs in the local and national arena.

5.No cosigner, no collateral is needed. 5% interest rate, repayment period is 5 years. Erika loan is need and merit based. You can qualify for up to 100% of tuition.
6. Merit based partial scholarships are available, ranging from 2% to 12% of tuition. Scholarships shrink each admissions round.

2.No, to apply for the OPT you must hold a F-1 U.S visa for 9 months.

4.These decisions are NOT BEING MADE AFTER DEPOSIT, they are made AFTER Form E and (financial information form) Form A submission. Understand that Hult is an international school (with most students coming from countries which are not of the country the campus is located in) and almost every student is ensured financial aid.

Thanks for answering the queries .I am however yet not clear about answer for my question 4.

I have the admission offer along with the forms A & E attached to it.
As per the forms sent to me (refer from A & E ) ,one of the forms is for financial information whereas other form asks for confirmation of accepting the admission offer along with submission of 2500/- USD through one of the payment mode ie Cheque,Credit Card(enter Credit card information in the form) .

In this mode of accepting the admission offer after pledging 2500/ USD when i donot have any info about the scholarship to be offered ,as a prospective student,what am i supposed to understand from your reply .Please advice the clear stance about the same as my earlier question remains unanswered :-

4.Why are the scholarship/aid decisions being made after the acceptance fee submission Why aren't they offered along with the admissin offer as an accepted norm followed in most of the renowned BSchools.

Your help in answering these questions is of immense help for prospective HULT students like me to know & understand about HULT admision policies .

Thanks Dr. Jones for replying to my queries.

I can see a lot of Indian students especially from the IT sector being offered positions at Hult Dubai.

Can you share the target / till date admission stats (industry and country) for Hult dubai based on the industry sector.

I would like to see a class with a mix of experience and industry and not an all / most having (say 50%) Indian IT background at Hult Dubai.

Your views on this are solicited.
