sdm-imd, mysore is probably the only institute under the aicte realm that is blatantly flouting the aicte directive.it is refusing to pay back the fees paid, even after the aicte deadline is set. it is time that aicte should act and cancel its recognition..........

there is a limit to hypocracy of this dirty institute..............it is planning to dupe me in the tune of rs.59000, when my father called them for refund, they humiliated him.all this after a deadline set by the aicte.........i wonder whether there is rule of law in this country..........or its a jungle raj................it seems influential people can stoop to any low........cheat common people of their hard earned money....and can go scot free.....

wat if i join a coll and after attending the coll for a week i decide to withdraw my admission....would my amount be refunded....bcoz the condition given is tat the vacant seat has to filled by other

hey same question...after 2 weeks of college starting can i get no refund...alsosribop007 u r in welingkar 2007-09 ? when did the result come?

i had taken admission at IMT nagpur and for some reasons had to cancel it ; i canceled my admission a day after their registration date; the refund i obtained was a paltry sum of 14500 ( i had paid a sum of rs 93700 as their first installment). The reason they have given me is that since i canceled after the registration date, they wont be able to fill my seat and hence this deduction. Is this a valid reason? Can the AICTE ruling be applied here?....urgent advice needed?

hey fellows....i also had lost some 70k with scmhrd this year but ultimately they had to return it coz of the AICTE guidelines...and yes i cancelled my admission before starting of classes.. so my case is different from u ppl... but if u go thro' the AICTE guidelines u'll find that it is clearly stated that if a cadidate withdraws admission after starting of classes then the instt will have to return the amount paid less a proportionate amount till that time of course and the vacant seat so created shud be filled by a candidate from waiting list. and thats y AICTE has given a guideline as to come out with extended waitlist. i gss it will be easy for them to prove that they can't take any new candidate from waitlist if the course has started quiet early as in that case they will have to arrange for extra classes for new joiners but if the admission has been cancelled after few days of begining of course then i suppoose they will have to pay the bulk of the amount.... nd i'll suggest u ppl to talk to aicte officers and work accordingly......

I will suggest one thing from my experience, plz do not apply to sdmimd, this is one coward inst. that flouts all aicte rules.

Recently, I have come across BIMTECH (an AICTE approved college). They have mentioned everything about AICTE notice on their website. However, in the hard copies of the letters sent to those selected they have mentioned that the entire amount of first half-yearly installment (Rs. 1,59,000) once deposited is non-refundable. For waitlisted candidates they have mentioned that they will have to deposit Rs. 30,000 as deposit for confirmation of their admission. And if the waitlisted candidate's admission is confirmed, he'll have to pay the rest of the amount (Rs. 1,59,000 - Rs. 30,000) and in case they fail to pay the rest of the amount, then their Rs. 30,000 will be forfeited. I was astonished to read these statements in hard copies of the letters of my friends. This is totally against the rules of AICTE.

Those who have received the final calls can confirm this development.

hi friend, same here. i came across this today itself. almost all colleges have flouted this rule saying different things in dfferent cases. i feel the rule applies only to colleges affiliated to aicte.

and even this rule is not being strictly adhered to.
