Want to withdraw your admission from a B-school???? AICTE comes to the rescue...

I see absolutely no reason why you shouldnt be eligible.... just because you have signed a document saying you accept that its non-refundable doesnt mean anything. in fact, it has no legal validity.

EVERYBODY who pays fees in a institute has to sign such things. they are still very much bound to follow the AICTE guidelines ( unless of course, they go to court against it and win the case, which is highly unlikely because they have no reason to keep your money when there's somebody who's taking your seat and paying them the fees )

This is definitely a much awaited move from the AICTE .
I paid 40k as first installment to secure my seat at ICFAI-HYD which eventually i m not taking up, As ICFAI is not an AICTE approved institution, yet they project themselves as an university.In this case do they come under the purview of this declaration?????
I was supposed to pay the second installement of ICFAI at April-10 which i didnt n they have intimated me with a warning .The course formally begins from june -2 though they have a bridge course starting from may2.I m not taking up ICFAI whatso ever...
Can i still retrieve my fathers hard earned money ????
PL suggest ill be greatful to the participants!!!

slightly tricky situation here, if ICFAI isnt approved by AICTE. are you sure about this ?

anyway, i think it is mandatory for instis to have AICTE approval ( there are certain requirements, of course ), so you could directly approach the AICTE with your problem, which is two-fold : one, the insti is not approved, two, they arent giving back your money.

another way of tackling the problem : approach MRTPC ( Monopolis and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission ). they had awarded a verdict in favour of a student, and SP Jain had to pay up 1.4 lakhs. only thing is, in this case, you'll have to sue them and fight a case, unlike the AICTE thing, where they'll take care of everything.

I think this is a good move but the max deduction cap should be 10,000. not 1K ... If i know i will lose only 1K no matter how late i report of my unwillingness to join a perticular institute..they naturally i will be a bit lazy in reporting

we hv to wait and watch on how much of this directive is bought by the instis. AICTE has been trying to implement things, but the efficacy often is not as expected...

I have my 70,000 at stake with SCMHRD. Any one in the same situation please PM me.
I did call the SCMHRD admissions and they told that they have not received any notification from the govt, so they would continue to follow their policy. They would decide future course of action depending upon whether they receive the notification or not.

this is gonna be the most favourite ploy that most of the MBA intis will use to fool us....i'm also gonna ask for refund from one of the instis....and i think we shud gather more ppl and team up....this way the instis. cant fool all of us....

This is my first post on Pagalguy.Like many other aspirants,i also had to deposit Rs 35,000 at SP Jain to secure admission.The same was taken as non-refundable acceptance from me.I have a final convert at MDI & am currently waiting for the IIM results to come out as i have IIMB,L,I & K calls as well.Would like all those guys like me who had to pay 35k at SP Jain to form a group so that we can jointly approach SP Jain for the refund in case it refuses to pay us if we approach it individually.
