WHAT CRAP !!!
This includes the fees for entire year. A mandatory laptop worth 60k is also a part of it, which you will have to take even if you already have one. Refundable amount: A pony 10k
The purpose of making it all so fast is crystal clear, as pointed by 'The Truth' on this or some other thread.
Dear Sir (or anyone concerned out here),
I forfeit my candidature for your course at GLIM. (Earlier I was kind of ambivalent, but now I am dead sure). Please include me out...
And for God's sake, plz let the waitlisted ones know what their merit is, as was promised by Fast-n-Steady...
With no regards whatsoever,
yours truly (Glakes app# 1049) | Oh horrible,
It comes as no big suprise to me. As from mail one, i've been stressing what their intentions are. glim is TRULY an institute with a difference. Its just plain and simple. and again best of luck on ur IIM results. But one thing is sure, u wont be the last one to forfeit your candidature due to this issue.
p.s : I guess glim will now send another mail to all candidates, extending the apr-7 deadline to somewhere in apr-25 (after the big results are out). as a face-saving measure. But then again, since this is an issue where huge bucks are concerned and is not related to some admission process, they mite cash in on this opportunity again. even if 4-5 students pay up, due to uncertainity with other results, and then forfeit their candidature at a later date, glim wud make a nice profit of 25-30 lakhs. Wow. They really have done their finance module case studies.

But one thing that shocks is that people didnt know that results, fees, date of joining etc wud be well before other 2 yr colleges...ne ways may be we need to print the same in bold, that course starts in april and people shud pay fees before joining the insti. Will take kind consideration...... | | | | | The Following User Says NO Thank You to mkinra For This Un-useful Post:

Rather than asking any student about payment details, i would advise u ppl to directly contact the Finance Department, because the students are not handling the payment part

Dear Manik/FnS,
plz understand that the intention is not to grill you or bother you. You would always be respected for your efforts. Please don't take it personally...
And for your quote above, you must be aware that most of the institutes ask for regular instalments, which is even more applicable for the institutes having their fee in the high-end (above 3-4 lakhs per annum). Though it is a fact that most of the management studies aspirants go for the loans from various banks and hence, are usually in the position to pay the entire fee in a lump-sum. This is true for Glakes also, so no complain on that.
And that laptop being mandatory is absolutely illogical. Don't even want to comment on that...
It is taken that Glakes course has to start by April. But please put yourself into my shoes. I have already mentioned that I would have liked to play safe by ensuring my seat into Glakes until other results arrive. I was ready to remit 50k for that, if that is all it would take. But with this concept of full fee remittance by April 7, I couldn't help myself getting red in frustration...
I weighed all the options before deciding to give up. And I am satisfied with my decision, given the things as they are.
PS: thank u 'The Truth' for wishing me luck!! Will comment over your speculation about GLIM's extension of deadline, once I actually get to see it...

The logic/iilogic of compulsion of laptop does not arise as it was mentionned beforehand in the brochure and the website that it is compulsory... and knowing this ppl have applied, is there any point to make a noise?

Hi MKinra/FnS,
You two are doing a fabulous job...
Two more questions for u -
1. I assume that the second installment of payment (Rs 5,20,000) is also to be made by a bank draft in favor of the same name as is reqd in the draft for the first installment. Plz correct me if I am wrong.
2. The session starts frm 20th April. In ur opinion, by what date a person should reach Great Lakes so that he/she can arrange for the accomodation in time? Moreover, how much support does the college provide in arranging for an accomodation?
thnx!
