Hello everybody,
I did not see any thread on this new business school which has been started with IMS in association with XLRI. So I thought I will begin this. Anybody out there who has applied for this business school. If so lets introduce and share some information in this thread.

its very costly but i dont mind that if the placements are good. reading abt the infra sturc details i guess its gonna be a rocking camous. but i have only 46% in xat , is that ok?

i am from chennai too. wanna keep in touch? i am sending the admission form today to mumbai.
and what made u choose this relatively unknown coll?
i am zeroing on this cos this coll has excellent faculty and also it seems to have backing from xlri.
i think in 2 years time it will come out as another great lakes coll , chennai!
know what i mean?
but, their placements details is still a concern!

hi sri, thanks for replying , First thing is what I heard from IMS people is 85+ in CAT is cut off for freshers and 80+ for work ex in CAT. Regarding XAT i dont have any idea.But I called up Praxis and they said there is no such cut off and its totally based on profile of candidates. So I guess they are giving more importance to the profile. Actually feb 20 was last date for buying and feb 28 was last date for submission of forms.U can call and find out if they would accept ur form after the deadline.
About the bschool
1) most impressive thing is faculty, all permanent faculty from XLRI and IIM. Even other visitng and guest faculty are from IIM, XLRI and XIM bubaneshwar.
2) I gave this bschool a shot because of alliance that Praxis has with XLRI in terms of research,student exchange program and curriculum.And so in 3 to 5 years this will be among top 15 b schools hopefully.
3)Regarding placements even i am not very sure but looks like this is industry specific program and since they have a good alliance, i hope company's that pick at XLRI and XIM will also pick students from here, though not for same salary which is fine i guess.
4)Their Curriculum which has been designed in collaboration with XLRI which looks quite innovative.
5) One more superb thing is their campus. They have already constructed a campus and not like other b schools that first teach in some place and then move to a new campus. Anyway i am fine with it in both ways.
6) And best thing is IMS mba training institute has 30 years experience in this line and we all kno that they have so many iim alumini, so i guess all those experience will be taken as inputs.
7) I guess the fees is 5 lakhs including tution fee,books,refundable deposit and other miscellaneous. Even IIM charges 4 lakhs and almost 80% of the bschool these days are in 3.5 to 5 lakhs range. So I thought fees was fine.

and my parents are apprehensive over the fact that the coll does not have aicte approval.

how did u convince ur parents? dint they have prob with that?

.....and people in the Waiting List, do not worry about it. Last time also there were quite a lot of conversions from the WL.
