This thread is being started so that you can address your queries related to admissions at BIM Trichy for the 2007-2009 batch.

As BIM will be taking CAT scores this year we are starting this thread here. Kindly post your queries here.

Hey dude.

1)abt the cutsoff..u can find the last years cutoffs on the website Welcome to Bharathidasan Institute of Management in the faq section.
2) after you have been shortlisted..a gd/pi will be conducted. last year it was conducted in Trichy, Chennai and Bangalore.
3) as per my understanding of ur "wat areas they stress upon" is for the cat paper sections? well in that case they majorly stress upon the overall cutoffs..

hmm.. i think last year the cut-off for OCs was 94 percentile.. n i was personally surprised to see it so high for BIM.. but its a very good school none-the-less...

yes its a very good institute..last yr the cutoff were in the high ninties i believe....i got thru at 94.33 only....

My CAT score is
VA :16
DI:42
QA:43

I have 1.5 yrs of work ex in a s/w company.

My profile is:
10th:84.5%
12th:93.5%
B.E:8.5(CGPA)
I have applied to BIM and i belong to Tamilnadu BC.

Wat r my chances and also tell me abt the GD/PI process.
Will they ask more questions on my acads or work ex?

Hi dude,

about your chances...i believe u shud get a call..but then in CAT there are no guarantees right!!...

regarding the GD/PI process. It will be conducted in chennai/trichy/bangalore probably. The GD topic will be more or less based on current affairs/current issues in the news. So be updated on that when the time comes.
The PI will be based more on your work ex..ur responsibilities, role, etc. It will basically test your attitude. Nothing to be worried about...

Also tell me abt the lateral placement scenario.
I hope i will be eligible for lateral placements with 2 yrs of work ex while joining.

Well..placements are in full swing..we got alot of companies coming to campus this yr...cant divulge the details out here...regardng the lateral placements...im sure that the companies that are gonna visit the campus are gonna consider ur work ex....
