Hello All!!!

The DEC 08 intake applications of SPJCM about to start.

This thread would discuss all the unique and silly and serious issues/doubts/clarifications, calls, GD/GI/PI experiences, admits, financing, etc relavent to this school.

I am Amit Goel working in HCL Tech and i already have appeared for IT Management for June intake, but got rejected after waitlisted. I will apply this time again.

So all you guys/gals feel free to post any of your query or doubt, will do my best to provide an answer.!

and other things regarding placements

hi guys,

I am pradip working for HP India sales and having 7 yrs total work ex of Key Account mangement and OE Sales. Planning to take up GMAT on 30th july '08 and Mechanical engg by qualification with Executive Diploma in Marketing from Nirma Uni, Ahmedabad.

I am evaluting coarse options this point of time and got interest for SPJ GMBA. Have couple of quarry and what better place than pagalguy to discuss about;

1. While going through SPJ GMBA web page, observed that min work ex required is 3 years but didnt have details of avg work ex of present batch (assuming would be much higher). SHALL I CONSIDER THIS OPTION WHILE AM HAVING 7 YRS WORK EX

2. Was not able to find records of their latest placements. WILL THEIR BE CLEAR DIFFERENTIATION IN TERMS OF PACKAGE/POSITION OFFERED BETWEEN STUDENTS OF DIFFERENT LEVEL OF WORK EX AFTER SUCESSFULL COMPLETION OF PROGRAM?

As of now i am joining ICFAI HYD or MBE Delhi University but will try for SP JAIN next batch.

Hi Amit,
I have done my BE Electronics and Diploma in Electronics.
I have 5 years of Sales experience in IT (hardware) industry.Currently employed with Wipro in Mumbai.

I am planning to pursue Marketing gmba @ SP JAIN. But I am not very sure of the job prospects in terms of Salary packages that could be offered with my level of experience.
Also I wish to continue in the IT Marketing domain post mba.....
I am not sure of the compnies that cater to the said kind of profile.....can you shed some light on this subject from whatever research you have done from your end.

Hi Praddy,

I also wish to pursue gmba @ sp jain....but not to sure of the pay packages post mba.....I have 5 years sales exp, have done my Dploma as well as BE ( electro) and currently employed with Wipro as Manager (Technology sales).

Hi Friends,

Whats happening with you all? Another season of MBA starts, My history with SP Jain is old.

Dec 2007 - got an interview call but could not convert for IB (spjat - 77%)
Jun-2008 - No call for interview , diff Was I made my application stronger by adding achievements and two NCFM ceritifcations. It was for IB only
Dec 2008 -There is sometime for filling application.
This time I have to make my application strong
have joined GMAT coaching at princetion to scale upto 700
Planning to change my specializtion from IB to IT .

Are these changes recommended

Hi all,

I got admit in the May intake of GMBA in IT. Have deffered it to december. Even I had apprehensions about joining the December intake as came to know from ppl that recruitments are slow, pay packs are less, etc. But then, an initiative that SP Jain is taking is that they have shifted the course commencement dates ahead by a month. So, instead of January, the course begins in Decmber this time and same applies to placement process which would happen in September instead of November as October is a lean season because of holidays. Moreover, it's the class profile and multi tasked efforts that can further improve the placements. Taking positives out of it. Anyways, the choice of specialization is entirely individual based. If the desire is to switch from IT to finance then one should go for IB, WM. It all depends on your convincing abilities at the time of interaction with adcom. Hope to meet my fella batchmates at this forum. All the best..... I would be actively in touch with all the ppl here.
