And Yes, got all those interview invites for this year.

I am not sure as to where I conked up. I did suspect my interviews after a few initial rejects but then got it out of the window after I got rave reviews from a professional mock interview session. Anyway, the interviews for these Bschools are very basic in nature. As long as you know your story / purpose and exhibit decent communication skills, you should walk through.
On analysis, I feel my 2.5 yr work ex fell on the shorter side at these schools. I'l never know until I get my feedback from W and C (btw the only schools which does provide FB)

On the other hand, it is NOT trivial to re-apply to these top notch schools for just the below reason -

The app season is ~6 months away. I dont see myself doing something extraordinary in the next few months to justify 'new-content' in my essays or add the 'wow' factor
Agreed, it is tough giving a "new look" to your profile in six months...
But think, with 2.5 yrs of experience you got interview invites from all the ultra-elites. Now that is quite something..
That already means that these schools see something special in your profile. Did you answer the why school X question convincingly?
At times, the problem might not be with the qualification, but with the ability to justify the selection of a particular school...

Congratulations to both of you! It is surprising that IIM L released the results while the other IIMs are still holding. Lucky guys!

Congratulations to all of you who got into IIM-L. I'm sure this must come as quite a relief. For those who decide to accept, I wish you all the best for the next two years.

The IIM C director had announced earlier this week that the IIMs have finished consulting with each other and will now release their results independently. With IIM L taking the lead, I can only hope that the others will soon follow. However it is a tad surprising that the general quota list for the regular CAT students has not been announced while the Overseas list has been.

Anyhow, any updates would be most appreciated! Best of luck to the rest.

BTW, I'm assuming you guys were sent individual emails? When does the semester start and by when do you have to accept?

Thanks!

Re: NRI Admission to IIM - 18-04-2008, 06:59 AM

I'm considering applying to the IIM's next year. My profile is:

GMAT: 770
Undergrad: IITK
Acads: Average
WorkEx: 4 years (I relocated to the US 2 years ago)
Extra Curricular: I was involved in a number of activities at work and college

Questions:
* How important are the recommendation letters at the IIM's?
* I see that we have to be in India for the interviews and the GD/PI. Are these close together for the different IIMs?

Any tips/suggestions?
