Here's how we use our laptops (and hence what's required inside ur laptop) :

1. Surfing & Chatting (any laptop will do)
2. Playing Songs (any laptop will do)
3. Watching & storing movies (bigger hard drive is required)
4. Playing games (bigger RAM is required .. if u have graphics card then nothing like it)
5. Preparing word, excel, power point, etc. documents (any laptop will do)

Hope this will help.

1. Ur doubts were not foolish.
2. I am not laughing this time (but smiling on ur request of not telling u that I have never noticed the dress code of gals )
3. When we joined NIA, all of us liked the food. But now eating the same stuff everyweek becomes boring .. specially for those ppl who have left their homes for the first time. Overall quality of food (both veg & non-veg) is avg. Plus, ppl r coming from different parts of India and menu then needs to represent all kinda food and cooks r local guys who give local touch to whatever they cook. But yes, 2 yrs can be happily spent with this food.
4. Coll doesnt have any dress code for normal days. U can wear whatever u wanna wear (and ppl do wear whatever they wanna wear ... gals too ... so I am then bound to notice). For special days (like any formal event, placement time etc.) ... boys wear blazer & tie and gals have the option of choosing between a saree OR trouser, blazer & tie ... these cloths will be arranged by the coll but u will have to pay for it.
5. Video chatting has been blocked by the coll. So no use of webcam. But yes clarity is more wierd than a mobile cam.
6. Don't be sorry for asking questions.

Patel Boss,
The overwhelming growth in the placements of NIA are encouraging ,,

My questions are related to placement

1. In Which city most of the students gets placed ?
2. What are the destinations offered..?
3. Is there any provision for lateral placements..
4. Does NIA have a lower benchmark..of CTC

Thanks in advance..

1. Mumbai
2. What do u mean by destination?
3. Because of the small batch size, we don't have enough students with considerable work ex. So we r not able to arrange for a separate lateral placements day. But recruiters may give consideration to work ex and u can be considered for better profile or salary during the normal placement process only.
4. No we don't have any such lower benchmark because our small batch size has so far insured that salaries keep rising considerablly everyyear.

Most of the companies put the students at their Head Offices .. and most of the head offices r in mumbai.
A few co have their head offices in hyd, delhi, gurgaon, banglore, pune etc. .. so in that case students r put in those cities.

And sometimes ... some special dept. of co r located in other cities (such as IT companies hae their insurance software dept in some city then students will be put in that city).

But most of the students r in mumbai only.

Hi,
I have one query. In the prospectus given to us, it is mentioned that hostels are on "twin sharing basis" & on the website it is mentioned "Each participant is accommodated in a single room in the hostel." So i wanna ask whether rooms are on twin sharing basis or single room for each student.
