Not too keen right now on joining this course, but not ruling out GMP completely.
Too many factors to be considered.

Age: 28
Education: Masters in Computer Applications, Pune University
Job: Has been working for last 41 months with Persistent Systems Pvt. Ltd. in Pune as
a software professional.

XAT percentile: 98.83 (Iska koi matlab nahin hai, still it will help us understand the batch better)

Post-MBA: Finally want to end up after MBA as a business developer in the IT sector.

Any news when it starts... like VSk Im too all raring to go... the only thing thats weighing on my mind is about a sabbatical leave ... To be or not ??: . True it shouldnt make a difference but then it is still straws to clutch on....

Working as IT Analyst with TCS Bangalore with almost 5 yrs of workex......
Avinash(Infy), can we get in touch with you asap as we both are in Bangalore and even my off is in Elec City(albeit Phase-2).
Btw, First of all : when does the course begin,what date?
By what time do we have to submit the fees?
Buddies..the course looks good...but can we find an alumni of GMP to find more abt it?

Great work Partha for starting this thread.
Although I had already posted my profile on another thread,I am posting it again.
I too have got the final call for the GMP program .

My Profile:
Name-Mohammed Urooj
Workex-45 months(27 months in Bharti Televentures + 18 months in COLT Telecom which is my present company, as a Network Planning Engineer)
Location-New Delhi

I am not sure if I would quit the job or try for a sabbatical.I am in a real dilemma.
What are your views on quitting the job and joining this program?Currently my CTC is 7.5 pa and would like to continue in the Telecom sector after the MBA.
Since our batch would be the first batch to go through the placement process ,it makes me feel more uncomfortable at the thought of quitting the job.

All GMP call getters in Delhi,
Why don't we meet sometime this week?

Without beating around the bush and looking for better words, let me confess that peer quality is something that worries me for the GMP course.
No great filters were used to eliminate candidates as it happens for BM and PMIR courses.

Just beats me why GMAT scores are not acceptable when applying for GMP?
We all keep hearing one year courses of IIMs, SPJIMR, and other institutes, why is XLRI not marketing its course properly?

Mine is 87.2%ile....even i am also a bit skeptical on the marketing being done by XLRI for GMP....

My XAT %ile is 87.XX. ...although I would suggest that it may not be a great way of judging the batch aptitude.......with people with work-ex as much as 10 yrs we shouldn't expect great %iles here. It is like GMAT range 550-780 for a good college.

Work Ex: 5 Years in telecom Sector

Anybody from from NCR or Northern region ?

Also Guys, since seniors are not coming online for answering our queries, Why not take a trip down to XLRI to find out more about this course prospects. Anybody interested, pls post here? Or if somebody has already got there and done that, pls share experience.

And one more appeal to Seniors, Pls. Pls. come online and give us some GYAN.

Although, the program prima-facie appears to be very good, still i agree with Harry that we should move to XLRI and try to gather some details. Harry I am planning to undertake such a visit shortly. will keep u posted.

Me too got in. XAT - 92.5%.

Total Exp : 3.5 yrs in IT as development specialist
Companies: Infosys + sap labs

I'm from bangalore. Why dont we all meet up in bangalore this weekend, or next week? Can some GMP senior please message me his/her email ID, phone no. I would like to talk to them.

And all call getters - let's ping each other and talk !!

just saw junta wondering when does the prgm all start ?
I just got an idea from the BM thread that last date of fees (acc to last year stats) may be arnd Apr 25 ...we will al receive a letter at home

Prgm shud start at July ...guess ...course brochure nahi dekha .
But more than all this I have lotsa questions on the LRP (which I guess even others wud be minding abt ).
We need to talk to the current placement committee guys as to how the GMP guys will be represented in the committee . And i got to know that there r arnd 65 BM , PMIR (in toto) odd guys eligible for LRP with us (excluding us)

Many more points like these (apart from placements of course) GMP 2K7 will need to team in for and take the course to new heights
