ws asked just one question in PI (funny !!).. abt the college... the infra was pretty fine. i liked it.. was goin thru the placement list and finance had a pretty good list of recruiters..
m awaiting results for another coll... lets c.. any words of wisdom.. b4 i take the final plunge is welcome...

i have a final call from icfai hyderabad too...
and i am planning to specialise in HR , not finance...
So jus wondering which one is a better option

hey reshma.. congo.. well.. reg selection of the insts..
1) ICFAI HYD hs a better name.. but need to think abt the return on investment.. ICFAI is too expensive.. and they do not provide hostel facilities too with amt they r charging..
2) ICFAI is best for finance.. the study materials provided for finance is good...m not too sure abt HR or any other field. I did spk to a student in XIME who said the students were offered 5.4 as sal for HR by a reputed co..(dunno if i can take the name here !!)...
one thing i need to knw is whether XIME is the sister concern of XLRI & XIM-B... is ths true guys..??
can a alumini help us..?

LIBA > XIME. ICFAI (Finance) Hyd > XIME. It is again my subjective opinion. XIME is not a sister institute of XLRI or XIMB but I guess it is founded by somebody who was earlier in XLRI or XIMB.

xime is not a sister institution of xlri or ximb.. xime does have gud course content, and yes the fees compared to icfai is lesser too... also they do have gud faculty... but it is also true that icfai is better ranked compared to xime..
im still thinking abt it... also i attended nmims interview today... which was also gud.. though my written exam scores aint that gud... and xime first installment has to be paid by march 18th...

18th march is quick... but then.. seems they hv a long waitlist.. thts y they r hurrying up... the director is a former direc of IIB & dean of XLRI... thts the only connection tht i hv figured out...

me too didnt get any mails from the institute..... well the director caught me too with low acads in the pi but my gd was gud i guess i shud make it....more over i think they have not given the list as yet for students who have taken the gd pi in bagalore yet...lets seee....keeping my fingers crossed.i shud get in some wait list atleast if not in the first call..... hey one more thing guys xime belongs to the xavier group in the sense it is the part of some xavier association...should be doing great in the coming years.neways bye for now...keep posting guys

i got 79.4 in xat,ece with an aggregate of 71%,i got thrugh XIME and am confused about attending or not 2 attend the LIBA call because i basically stay at hyd and i need 2 go 2 chennai 2 attend the call.anyways will keep ya guys informed...

hey,....me got thro too....i was pretty satisfied wid their campus,....and have a frnd whos studying there-->shes very satisfied with the faculty,course content....etc...so im gonna take it up......

and guys im sure there's a wait list.........so for the rest keep ur fingers crossed....atb!!!
really saddeened to hear that ppl who attended interview in bagalore also got the call already... was hoping for that...i guess they preferred to kick me out...this was my last hope...well have to wait for mms results now and cross my fingers that i do well there atleast.otherwise it will be tata for this year.
well for u ppls knowledge..loyola is a very good insti and u can definately try for that if u succeed and prefer that over xime any day. anyways some one said that one of the known person is studying in xime...can u please find out about placements in xime from here ...info like how much pay and all....coz when i was in bagalore for the interview...i spoke to many ppl they were all like xime is not heard of and alliance is abetter off college than that...alliance is ranked before xime and all...and were motivating me to join that...can some one help with that
hey guys happened to come across a write-up on XIME posted on 15/7/03 by Avinash. Pretty old, but maybe it can be of some help to ppl here... I have added few comments in between as to wht changes i have noticed when i visited..

had not put across my views about my college tho the college had begun quite some time back( june 23rd to be precise ). just wanted to make sure sure that i had a good idea b4 i cud put across my views 
.
we had an induction programme for a week and a few guest lectures from the various ppl like one proffy from IIM-B and a few guys from the industry. there wuz not much formal arranged interaction sessions b/w students including our seniors 😞 . but the second week turned out to be different. we had a 'parichay' session which wuz more of a game where the seniors had to guess the name of one of the seniors after we threw some clues about the person which wuz unknown to them..it wuz fun and skeletons started to tumble when some very personal info became public but they all took it sportively. we had a cultural fucntion as well welcoming us to the college. it lasted less than what we expected but it wuz a great show by both the batches.
now bout the college, it still is in the process of growth and has a long way to go make it to the top and our diro J Phillip( ex-director IIM-B) is making sure that we put up a good show during these 2 years. faculty too is pretty good with one IIM-A and very co-operative too but a couple of subjects do drive me nuts like indian society and OB. library too has a pretty decent collection of reference books and journals (7000 books till now). but i am not too happy bout the the internet speeds in our college as we got to share the bandwidth with some of the offices next to our inst 😞 . the canteen too isn't too impressive but then itz in the process of improving with vending machines being installed (the vending machines are installed and the canteen has a television. pretty neat and well managed). the college timings go like 8:45 am- 5:00 pm. and the schedule includes factory visits and weekly talks. we need to maintain a min of 90% attendance. placementwise last years batch had 85% placements and a few rejected offers as they found the pay package below their expectations. highest wuz by oracle 5 lakh p.a which has been the highest so far 8-).
we have mid term exams next month and a few surprsie quizzes and tests every now and then. but one thing that we r lagging is when it comes to case studies . we haven't had much of it expect during the induction program. hope we wud have them more often. the mix of students too is like 45% engineers, 30% commerce students and the rest from other backgrounds and very few ppl with work-ex and that cud be a bother if all the 122 students need to be placed( ours being the second batch with the increased strength and hope our seniors make sure that they r all placed which shud give us confidence) but one things for sure the diro is making sure that he markets the college well. hats off to him. well i think i have covered enuf info bout my college. nothin more for now..will put across whenever somethin interesting comes up 😃 .

hi guys... i happened to meet an alumini of XIME and had a chat with him. mentioning few points below
1) XIME is a decent enough platform to get your career started as the institute has given ample scope for self development (if you have not made it to IIMs / XLRI / Symbiosis family insts etc).
2) XIME placements started by Feb this year 75% of XIME studs are already placed.
3) it is a part of XAMI (Xaviers Association of Management Institutes). XLRI / XIMB / XIME are all independent bodies following the same XAT test and have formed a common group called XAMI
4) The inst is well known among the Co's in south. so placements will be good.
as far as my comments are...the point is best will always be the best.. it is ridiculous to compare every school with the IIMs.. i have seen ppl from good insts who are unassuming and do not carry the MBA attitude..MBA,like life, is what you make out of it... sounds like magic words, which look good only on paper..but... thts wht makes the diff between a normal person and a exceptional person..self belief..

congrats to all u who got a call............. all xaviers institutes and liba r run by jesuits so yes they r connected........... they make use of each others networks so the benifites will pass on
