Hi Shobhan !!1
I'm really eager to know as to what exactly is the final selection criteria. What I mean is, the weightage assigned to CAT/XAT score and that to GD/PI.
Also, will the GD/PI process be conducted separately for HRM candidates or will be mixed with PGDM ?
PS- I got a call

Hi seniors,
Im shortlisted for HRM.Wanted to know how the program is considering it just started, though its bound to be pretty good since its XIMB.
Hi Puys,

How good is HRM at XIMB? What is the profile offered for HR Management at XIMB by companies?
Please help.
Hi Seniors,

Thanks
I too got a call for Hrm.....since its a new course at XIMB...Seniors please highlight the summer placement facts and profile offered.
BTW i did a little research on iimjobs.com and found XIMB-HR at par with XLRI,TISS,XISS,MDI-HR etc. So, i think its pretty good.

Need to know weightage distribution for FINAL LIST
Congrats to all those people who secured a call for PGDM-HRM.
To start with, last year we were also skeptical on joining this course since ours was the first batch. Did lot of research on college, faculty, placements, course structure, etc., Though we got a pretty good response from who ever we had asked still people were little apprehensive in coming here. But let me tell you over the past 8 months XIMB has crossed all our expectations in every aspect & its been a fantastic journey till now.
Faculty is the first and fore most reason why PGDM-HRM has been very successful in just one year. We have the best professors in the country teaching us Labour laws and HR subjects. The course structure is similar to XLRI as many of the faculty members teach at both these institutes.
As per the rules of the college we are not allowed to discuss anything about the Summer or Final placements. But to put it simply, summer placements have been great. People not just got lucrative internship period stipends but they have also got the most coveted HR & IR profiles. I hope this information is enough to clarify the apprehension regarding placements.
If you still require any other specific information about the companies visit our college website.
Personally last year I've chosen XIMB over the other top colleges because of my interest in HR and over the past 8 months there wasn't even a single time where i thought otherwise about my decision.
Overall to put it in one sentence. XIMB has crossed all our expectations with its fantastic faculty, placements, hospitality & ofcourse the 'X' culture.![]()
I'll soon post on how to go about the GD/PI for HRM. Till then please start doing a bit of research about HR. As the biggest question in the interview is going to be " Why HR? "
ATB:cheers:
As far as GD/PI is concerned ,though it is not sure that they ll definitely ask these questions. But I believe these are some of the topics they might want to ask you,if they want to know how much you are interested in HRM
1.HR policies & HR functions of your company ( In case you are having any work-ex)
2.About trade unions in india & some basic labour laws
3.Read about attrition
4.Recent Business and HR related news, etc
Also read recent HR magazines which will give you an idea about the trends in the industry. ATB

Hello puys,
First of all let me congratulate you all for converting XIM's call. Now that first hurdle has been crossed, gear yourself up for the bigger fight:cheers: i.e GDPI. Abhilash has already pointed out certain questions you must have answers to.
As I can see from the queries here you have apprehensions about this course being a new one but let me tell you that XIMB is best known for its HR course and also the progress of the course depends on its design and faculty which is at par with XLRI.
To name a few we have Excellent faculty in
Labour Law : Prof. E.M Rao and Prof. P.K. Padhi
HR domain : Father P.D. Thomas.
OB : Father George Joseph.
Also, don't think about placements when are thinking about XIMB. Its already a brand in itself. Hope you got my point, what I intended to say.
So cheers and Buck up.....looking forward to see most of you out here as XIMB fraternity.
P.S: I gave Prof's name so that you can easily search about them and be convinced.
Regards
Hi guys,
I am a student of PGDM HRM batch (2011-13).First of all congrats to all those who have got the call for this course.
You guys will realise eventually that you are really lucky. While there are a few challenges left before you come here, I can assure you life here is awessomee from the word GO. What we needed as a first batch was proper guidance in academics from good teachers, what we got as abhilash has pointed out is much more than that. We have some of the best professors in India in HR and IR teaching to us and they have not only made us realize how great this course has the potential to achieve but also they have made us realize how we can compete with the best in the country. For those who are really interested in HR, I would say it's a no-Brainer just go for it.. The syllabus is same as that of XLRI and so are many of the faculty As for the place the campus will make you fall in love with it and so will the enthusiasm of all persons here. As for us seniors, don't worry we are already awaiting with joy for some juniors to be able to have more fun and lots of masti!! ALL THE BEST HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL HERE
