Hi,

I had GDPI today at Mount Carmel Institute of Management, Bangalore
time slot : 9 am.

1) Your profile (acads & work-ex):
I have 5 years of work ex in IT Development and maintenance. My Domain is Securities and SCM.
Acads :
X - 75.6%
XII - 75.4%
Grad - 82.3%

2) XAT score : 84.XX (VA 43.XX,QADI : 75.XX, LRDM : 95.XX) :splat:
3) GD topic : Rainbow

Out of 10 people called, 3 people turned up @ 9am Slot.
The format was 1 min to think, 7 mins to discuss and 1 min to summarize.

2 of us were discussing the +ve aspects and I wanted to complete the perspective by bringing in some -ve points.

My Personal Opinion : I guess -ve points would cause some -ve points for me.

I don't remember exactly who asked which questions as I was more engrossed in thoughts of how to justify the -ve points in GD.

Q : Explain about yourself
Q : Why 2 years HRM after 5 years of Work Ex.
Q : Which state has CM and Dep CM. After some hints, answered.
Q : Apart from the state (which I answered), one more state?
Q : My role in Project.
Q : Who were the Joint CEOs of Wipro (I have 4 years of Work ex in Wipro, answered).
Q : why they have joint CEOs.(Answered by guessing somewhat)
Q : My Role in present organization.
Q : PagalGuy.com . (As I am PGMadcapz , Thanks Doc for the certificate).
Cross questioning on that.

Nice experience as it was first GDPI Call.

Special Mention : Called up Doc and he gave some of the Pit falls which I covered. Thanks Doc.

Had the GD PI at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore at 11 AM. Only 5 people turned up.
Profile - B.Com (Honours), Fresher
XAT score - 91.79
GD topic - We were given 1 minute to think, 5 minutes for the GD and again a minute to summarize. Wasn't anything like a fish market, everyone spoke. The topic was 'butterfly'.
PI - 3 panelists.
Q. Where are you from ?
Q. Any other calls/ converts ?
Q. I'll ask you questions on GK, your profile and academics. You chose the topic/subject.
A. GK - sports (Football or Cricket), Acads - Accountancy, Profile - My NGO experience.
Q. GK... 1. Different ways in which a player gets transferred from one club to another. 2. Difference in the way auctioning is done in the IPL and how players are sold in the EPL.
Q. Pro... 1. about the organisations i have been associated with. 2. Name the most famous NGO involved in promoting peace in india, etc.
Q. Acads... 1. Questions on Ratio analysis 2. questions on depreciation. 3. what is fiscal deficit. A few other questions on Economics and accountancy.

The panel was very calm and friendly, no stress what so ever.
I might have missed a few questions they asked, but this was basically all we talked about.
Took me around 15 minutes for the whole PI i guess, was decent :).
There were only the 5 of us, the whole process got over in 2 hours.
Remember to carry your Bio-data form with a photograph.

Do they provide a bio-data form to fill or do we have to carry one?If to be carried wat all needs to be incuded..is it CV u r talking about?

You need to carry the following:
1) Bio Data
2) Photos
3) XAT Score Card.
4) Certificates (Xerox I guess, though I had both)

is it mandatory to carry ur bio data?? dnt they have the form that we had filled at the time of filling the online application??

yes it is I even got a mail from the admissions office which reads as follows

Dear candidate,

Please refer to our GDΠ call to you for admission to our PGDM-HRM programme. You are required to bring your brief bio-data, (consisting of your personal, educational, and work experience details and photo), and a copy of your XAT score card when attending the GD&PI.;

GD was revolving over technical issue and ethnicity of revelation.

Got blank at time of GD ( This was my worst GD)Not able to put any concrete idea
went half prepared No CV no pen first impression became the last impression, I guess

Three in panel, all time smiling

Tell me about yourself, told
they told it was in My CV what else
regarding my job and then most imp y hr I could not reply they are cutting all my funda (finally worst PI too) finally go with logical reason of why HR. prepare or all counter questions

I would be the last person on earth they will consider. All the best.

I had GD-PI on 09:00 AM, 01-Jun at XIMB , Bhubaneswar . They have very green and beautiful campus.

Four out of 10 candidates appeared. One guy came after GD so he was asked to join next batch.

GD Topic : Should religious leaders join politics ?

They said we will get 1 min to think n 10 min to discuss but they asked us to start within 30 sec only and stopped the GD after 4 min only . Overall it was not a good discussion as we were not coming with unique and good point; perhaps panel realized this and stopped us. I am afraid that our whole group got rejected.



There were three panelist .



Following are the interview questions they asked :



1. Had ur breakfast? Hungry or angry?
2. Tell me a decision u took yesterday?
3. What u discussed with other candidates, who are done with interview?


4. Working in good organization n earning so y coming to waste money n time?
5. U should better go for plain 2 yrs mba instead of specialisation in HRM?
6. Motor vs compressor
7. Single phase motor Vs 3 phase motor
8. What are environment friendly power sources?


9. Karnataka n UP governor ?
10. Wipro CEO ?
11. TCS CEO n the one b4 him?
12. What is formula for break-even?
13. How good are u @ politics?
14. What were last years CAT & XAT percentile and calls?
15. Which calls u got this years ?
16. What are the questions u were not able to answer in XLRI interview? ( as I had call from XL but couldnt convert it)

They kept cutting in all my answers. Pata nahin kis baat ka gussa le kar baithe the baap log .

Three more candidates were interviewed before me. One fresher while other two with work-exp of 1-2 yrs. They were also asked Acads and GK questions n it was kinda stress interview for them also.


All process was over with 1 hr for our batch.

So this was all I had to share with you guys. Go there , be yourself and be positive in attitude .

Had a horrible gd-pi, my worst of the season to be precise. :
Xat score 96
Centre XIMB Date : 1st June Time : 2PM

8 + 1(from the morning batch as he arrived late for the process in the morning) people were present

GD: Topic- Romance and Learning
1 min to think and 9 mins for discussion
Was an absolute fish market, people were concentrating on being louder and audible than making sense. One of the worst GDs I have attended dont know what to expect from it.

PI: Panel Member 1: Soosai Peppin (P1)
Panel Member 2: Andrew Dutta (P2, silent spectator :|)
Panel Member 3: SS Ganesh (P3)
Me: M :banghead:

P3: So what do you think of the gd, did we give the right topic to you people?
M: 😐 (before I can say anything P1 started talking)
P1: I think these people didnt learn anything from romance
P3: Are you romantic? How is your love life?
M : I guess I am
P3: How many successful relationships did you have in the past? Average duration of each relationship? Is your present relationship a successful one?
M: thinking (am I in the right place?) , said something.
After all these P1 captures the centre stage with a crooked smile
P1: So what is the meaning of your name and what is the history behind your name?
M: :banghead: Somehow answered. (Mom you should told me the history behind my name)
P1: why do you think its important to study? Why cant you play all your life and get through a B-school?
M: Answered and made P2 to open his mouth for the first time :clap: only to realise that he wanted to yawn :|
P1: If you want to select some one from the 9 people of your batch based on the gd performance whom would you select except you?
M: based on the gd, none sir. :|
P1: That will make you a very bad HR Manager, you just rejected yourself.
M:
P3: Last question from us, when and where was the term HR first used?
