As some of us are having doubt whether or not to choose HRM here is a small advice from one of the seniors passed out of XL HRM..Got placed in a reputed company with good pay..
Hey, decide on your priorities on which field you would like to go in. Read the Black Book once..Just please don’t join any field just because you get a good pay because after a while even if you have career growth, if you are not interested in the work you do, you cant make your career successful..placements are important but not the only priority..HR is branch with vast scope to discover and do to the company you join, but are you ready to join HR?are you good with people management? Are you great people pleaser?most importantly you need to do this with a smiling face for the whole life..If you area ready for all these then choose HR but just because its XL’s HR please dont choose it..

I have a waitlist 61 in BM and a convert in HRM. I had the following questions: 1) If I pay the amount of 5,79,000/- for HRM, will I be considered for BM? (I'll pay the 50,000/- for staying in BM Waitlist) 2) If I convert BM, can the amount paid for HRM be transferred to BM? Will there be any deductions? 3) How much of the amount is refundable from HRM deposit, if taken after 22nd April?

10th 94% 12th 82.33% UG 6.56 CGPA XAT 99.14%ile WAT Good GD Excellent PI Very Good I haven't even made it to the waitlist. I wonder why? Had I been rejected after 2nd 3rd waitlist, it would still be okay! But not even the waitlist? Out of all the processes XLRI was my best shot and my best performance as well. Is it because of my academics? If that is so why do they conduct exams at all? Students sacrifice so much to get into these premier institute, to secure great percentiles, to perform great in the Selection process, and ultimately, all that the colleges see, are the graduation marks! There's no question about anything else during the interview as well! Not about the various courses you do, various extra curricular Co-curricular achievements you have, nothing at all. Why do these colleges simply not keep a bar, that "Those with a lower academics should just not apply and waste their time" Students waste thousands of rupees for these colleges forms and exam forms just to finally know that their past(which btw, cannot be changed) has been the reason for their rejection. Do they have even a teensy bit of an idea how devastating that feels? All that hardwork, all those great percentiles you score, all those dreams of getting into a top b school and making your parents proud, everything goes down the drain in seconds. Funda to get into a top b school: Ratta maaro, pointer lao graduation mein. Ho Gaya. You can consider yourself in. That's how it should be done! And people wonder why there's Brain Drain! Seriously those with lower academics scores shouldn't dream of an MBA from premier institutes especially GENERAL ENGINEER MALE CANDIDATES. Those of my brothers and sisters, who've made it to XLRI, I wish Y'all the best! I'm sure Y'all will have a great life ahead!
