Hi My profile is

710/116/3.2yrs IT(Infy)

cool!
Where else are you applying? You will be joining Wisconsin?

Ave, fellow aspirants. :)

I'm giving a shot at UW-Madison Fall 2010...... and a cpl of other schools. Desired specialization's gonna be the tech-mgmt program!

Here's my profile, going worst to best:
2 yrs after graduation consumed in two futile attempts in the UPSC exams. Learned a lot in life, GK and stuff.... no regrets. Even with 20/20 hindsight
GMAT: 660/800, 5.0/6.0. Sigh!
Undergrad B.Tech: 69%, which ain't bad for my neck of woods I guess... (University of Kerala's not so charitable with marks)
TOEFL: 110/120
Extra Curricular: Good - Quite a few prizes in Quizzes in a "career" spanning 12 yrs. Some of them in state regional and national level. No, I never got into BBC Mastermind/KBC... I've got 3 yrs in NCC with a couple of silver stripes too (if this counts at all!).
Work Exp: 4 yrs (by July '10) in Instrumentation & Control and little bit of Telecommunications and some serious Electrical switcgear: 2 Yrs in Power Plants and 2 yrs in Desalination Plants, District Cooling all over the Middle East. Not MUCH of first hand field experience.... more into site survey, feasibiliy studies, solutions, legwork, detailed design, proposals, documentation, price negotiations, testing & commissioning and handover.

Anyone review the profile and comment on my chances?
I know it ain't that good... even compared to so many puys here.

PS: Are we expected to show some kinda proof of all these claims of extra-curricular achievements? I'm abroad now and some of my certificates are locked up in my attic or something; nobody gives a fig for all that in my present job/job market. Gotta get my folks to dust the certificates just in case....

I applied in R2...Saw the updated status today..I have been waitlisted. Is there anyone out there who has been waitlisted as well.. Do the university considers additional materials for waitlisted applicants?

To which Specialisation you had applied?

I had applied to SHRM

I also received the waitlist notification today. I applied in Round 2 for the Corporate Finance & I-Banking program. Anybody else? I think the University does accept additional materials - it seems so from their earlier chat transcripts. But it might be a good idea to write to them and get some feedback.

Hi Puys,
I got an i/v invite from Erdman Center. Could you please share your interview experiences.

got an i/v invite too...cud ne1 share experiences...plz

If its a skype interview, I'm not too sure how it will be. I applied to the Corp Finance Investment Banking program. I'm guessing it should be similar. The admissions guys would mostly look for questions from you - so be prepared with questions about the program/ school/ place. The center guys might question more about your past experience and future goals. Don't think they'd ask anything technical. Also, they really read thro your essays and resume - which is a pretty good thing.

Good luck!

ramygirl - how long did it take them to give you a decision from the i.v date.
Cheers!

@snipertrader - I received a reply from wisconsin about 3 weeks after my interview.

@gmathunter/amittikoo84 - I found the wisconsin interview very different from other b-school interviews. It wasnt a forum where you project reasons why you think you are good enough to be enrolled. Instead, it was more of an informal and friendly chat, where the interviewers were actually trying to find out if the wisconsin MBA matches my expectations. And yes.. they would have thoroughly read your essays and resume and have a fair idea of your immediate and long-term post-MBA goals. Be prepared to answer questions such as:
- How do you think an MBA in your chosen area of specialization will help you more than a general MBA?
- Why Wisconsin? , etc.

Done with my iv...it was a really good one...i am now seriously pro the iv-er readin the applicants essays b4 iv-ing as i think this makes the questions more relevant and meaningful...hoping 4 da best
