The government can easily computerize lots of processes, at a faster rate than at which it is currently proceeding.

Many government offices have computers but they are used only for DTP work. Record-keeping can be computerized but I don't understand why it hasn't been done yet?

If various processes are computerized :

1. No excuse of losing a file can be made
2. No clerk can lie about a file not having reached him/her.
3. No expenditure on sending a peon by train/ by air to deliver important files.(Yes, it happens!)
4. Faster execution of processes

I can evince numerous other benefits, but I guess everyone's already aware of them.

I'm just asking why the government is not speeding this up.

The venal sh*t-heads who run our country will have lesser scope for corruption, if government processes are computerized. They might be delaying it.........
