A friend of mine is interested in buying a car, and he is a bit confused. He has narrowed on the following choices in the mid-segment
(1) Swift (Maruti)
(2) Getz Prime (Hyundai)
(3) Aveo UVA (Chevrolet)
Just in case you have first hand experience on any of the above mentioned cars or have very good knowledge in this area, please do pour in with your comments. He has already visited sites like carwale.com and spoken to half a dozen people. The criteria used for evaluating the car is (1) Aesthetic appeal (style and exculsivity) - 50% (2) Maintenance and service cost - 25% (3) Resale Value - 25%
Would be great if anyone can give feedback on UVA.
I am posting this reply to ask the same question, I shortlisted the 3 of these cars and very much inclined towards Aveo UVA. Do anybody having any suggestions for me.

It would be great if you could prioritise your requirements from the car and your budget as well.
Anyways if you want performance then look no further than the Swift from among the three options. It is reliable and offers a good service network as well. But the build quality of the car is not very good....as in you will start hearing rattles pretty soon.:D
uv-a and getz prime are good on space. Are you considering the 1.1 or 1.3 Getz??
Between the uv-a and 1.1 getz , the uv-a is more powerful.
The Getz would be hassle free...I'm not sure about the reliability of the UV-A in the long run.
There is not much of a difference in the fuel economy front, though i have heard that the Swift is a marginal winner here.

based on d parameters u gav...i guess, Getz is d best....i wud personaly recommend tht....it luks hep as wel....chev UVA is nt bad eithr bt getz is a class apart neday....
Aveo is great car in terms of value for money. it gives 76 HP for a 1.2L engine and thats awesome. Swift's cost is very much on the higher side, for the cost u pay for Swift's mid-segment car, u can buy a fully loaded Aveo, and so if there is a selection in terms of performance and value, Aveo truly rocks.
on the other hand, Swift looks more stylish. Aveo looks pretty bad from certain angles, the interior space is not that great either. Then again a lot of ppl don't like Swift's design, but it at least doesn't look bad like Aveo does.

Hi Aarav, Chevy UVA is a great car. My friend owns it and it a fun to drive.
Aesthetic appeal (style and exculsivity) - 10/10
Maintenance and service cost - Not a problem in big cities. Also GM have introduced some scheme regarding maintenance cost

I own a Getz myself, and would tell you to go for a swift deisel. this is cuz, almost all the things in the Getz and Swift are the same, but i feel the swift looks better! Also all the other factors for you, that is service and resale, Maruti is very good there. The UVA would be my last preference amongst the 3.
The swift deisel may cost you more initially, but amazing mileage, and it revs like a dream! Go for it, and enjoy the car. Drive safe!
Are you all talking about Swift Dzire? It looks rocking for just above 5 lakhs on road...

the Wagon R duo is great car coz of the mileage but if u plan to buy a petrol car ... go for santro....
It is really sturdy and needs less mntnce ........ mine has dne over 1 lakh kms and is running gr8.....

my next choice was wagonr duo... but it has no boot space!!!!!!
because of the space the gas cylender takes up!!!!!!!
sorry but i never considered getz and hence cant comment on it!!!!!

Wagon R gives an average of 13-14 w AC which is the same for santro as well.....
Maruti cars r less on maintainence is a mere myth but .......if u r so keen on buying the Wagon R do not buy the top model ...... it has a diff of 30000 from VX only bcoz of a defogger and pwr windows(which can be installed for 6000 per pair of windows).....
i have a Santro and mom drives a Wagon R ..... so trust my word ....
