Mate, the future of a post grad in SCM is quite good.. I have been trying to figure out some indian univ's which offer this course but have not been able to.. There is a university in Zurich which specialises in SCM post grad's but as all other Swiss univ's, it is asking for a 5 years + exp in addition to a whopping 65k Swiss Francs..

Hey hi,

I m sure you must have read the article in Eco Times by Mr.M Ambani wrt to SCM..he did mention that going ahead people with specialized degree in SCM will have upper hand.

Even i beleive that with coming years the logistic & supplychain in India will improve widely..so its better to be the part of the future growing sector.

Well i m currently pursuing PG in Supply chain from Institute of Supply chain Management ( Founder Dean Dr.Rakesh Singh)

Harvard, Yale etc. I guess...SCM being a very important field, any decent business school would have an excellent SCM dept.

NITIE is the place to be if u want to have that coveted tag of supply chain guy..plcmnts across entire geography ranging from US,UK,Africa,Middle East,Scandinavia etc etc

@ deedhnd- Bro you didn't mention S.P.Jain and Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management. I can say on behalf of SIOM because presently I'm studying here, and it has been doing exceptionally good when it comes to "placement figures!!!" (considering its only 8 years old). It has also received several recognitions from Asian Emerging B-School and Bloomberg- including the best Industry Interface award and the best Curriculum Incorporated.

Hi, please some can advise which are best colleges for MBA logistics & supply chain management, without CAT score, with placements record.

Hi, I have been a supply chain manager for the past 3 years at Havells, en electrical power Distribution Company in India. I am planning to do my MBA from abroad but I am not sure which country should I opt for my MBA. Can someone please suggest me which country would be appropriate for me? Also is anyone could suggest me a good MBA college which offers Logistics and Supply chain management, it would be great.

Hey, I have been working as a supply chain manager in a textile firm in Dubai for the past 12 years. I would suggest you to take up your MBA in Dubai or Singapore as they are important logistics hubs connecting globally and regionally, thus you would get the ideal exposure.

Thanks for both your inputs!

Numerous worldwide supply ties are not furnished to adapt to the world we are entering. The growing importance of "big data" and data analytics in SCM; increasingly widespread uncertainty and the associated need for a greater focus on risk management; growing government involvement in business (in regard to taxes, inflation, debt, and infrastructure, for example); and labor shortages at all levels. Technology improvements have been of tremendous benefit to supply chain professionals. From sophisticated software and wireless systems to smart phones, iPads, and other devices that seem to be getting smaller, cheaper, and more mobile all the time, technology has had, and will continue to have, a significant impact on SCM and its components. Supply chain management will continue to be a very good career option for both men and women. Customers will always need products and services, and supply chain professionals are the ones who make sure those goods and services get delivered.

what kind of work one has to do in SCM operations ?Â
