Hi Onkar,

Also which industry are you currently working in?

ATB

I am planning for R1.. But did not start application yet. I am from IT. I heard IT guys got tuff competation as many IT guys apply :(
Do u know anyone who is in Wharton now?

Unfortunately no man, I am scouring my network for some wharton grads who could give me inside info on how to navigate the process.

As for IT is concerned, I guess you are right. I personally know that 80% in my current GMAT class are in IT. BUt its do-able. From what I have heard, it really depends on execution of the app.

Good to find the thread.

I am also targeting Wharton R1 this year.

Why did you groan at the last post ?

Anyway, something productive for aspirants .. Though I am not even thinking of applying, I will write the essays and use the content for other schools .. Thiking about the big W brings out the best in essays :D

Hi Guys -
Am not new to Pagalguy but havent really followed up on posts and threads.

Education: B.Com, Chartered Accountant
Career progression; 3 years at PwC (trainee, not sure whether this will be counted as work exp.), 4 yrs at EY in Mergers and Acquisitions advisory, 1 year at Real Estate PE
GMAT - Fairly low as of now, will try and improve, Retake in November
Applying in Round 2

I have few queries:
Does GPA really need to be out of ordinary, since Chartered Accountancy course does not give GPA but passing only is real tough in India? Also, in my grad my GPA is fairly low.

I have low EC, however was active in school in drama, community service, plantation drives etc. so is it necessary to improve EC or will the work exp. counter it?

Would appreciate any responses towards my profile evaluation?

Regards,
Vivek

Wharton? dont even think about it...my GPA is 7.01/10:splat:

Hi folks,

I got done with my R1 app as well. Fairly ambitious - low probability of a call.

Hi,

Been close to 6 years since I last posted on PG. Never thought I'd be on this journey again :).

Submitted my app for R1 a few days back.

My profile:
6 years of work-ex across Fortune 50 healthcare and mobile majors in marketing and in a sales strategy role in a high growth education SME.
UG: 72% , Bachelors in Management Studies
PG: 3.22/4.0 at the country's top-ranked marketing communications school

Would love to revive the action I saw and felt on PG as someone who'd taken the CAT so many eons ago 😃

Hi I am a R2 applicant. This space has been awfully quiet for sometime... wondering if anyone got an interview with Wharton?

660 is too low. Even for a military candidate. Re-take would be my modest advice.

What does Wharton Consider while accepting a candidate other than his GMAT score? Lemme put it this way... The Candidate profile for entry to Wharton.

Pretty broad question. However, it's important to start broad. Start here:

Do You Have What It Takes To Get Into A Great School? | Poets and Quants

Not Wharton specific (don't believe Wharton is unique that way either), but is a good starting point.
